Speaking of foreign films.
Few weeks ago I watched Detective Dee and the Mystery of the Phantom Flame.
Very very good stuff.

I did, and I thought it was very well acted but other than that found it to be pretty dull.

So the main premise behind Looper is that JGL is a mafia hitman who kills people sent back in time. But he sees and older version of himself and hesitates for a moment, presumably allowing the rest of the plot to unfold. The only question for me is, they showed an earlier victim of JGL's having a bag over their head preventing recognizance of the victim and thus any hesitation to kill, yet the older him does not. Why? That is something that will bug me if they don't explain it.

I don't mind remake as long as acting casts are consist of either lightly recognizable actors/actresses or relative newcomers or both. Movie technology is much better than 1980's. However, I think remaking any Steven Spielberg's movies should be illegal anytime.
I want Stephen King's Maximun Overdrive to be redone before King becomes completely blind. That remake for TV is no good to me.

Watched Immortals today...
two things...
1. Freida Pinto has the most beautiful freaking eyes. Just watched Rise of the Planet of the Apes the night before...cant get enough of her. Gorgeous.
2. It's about time for a God of War movie. Some of the scenes in Immortals were fantastic. Straight out of God of War. It's completely possible to make an outstanding God of War movie with the tech today.

Pretty sure a God of War movie has been in and out of development for a while now. It makes a lot of sense as a popcorn movie, but I'd wager it turns out a lot like Clash/Wrath of the Titans.

It never really reached the latter stages of anything over those rough years, but the script has now been penned, said to be Batman Begins esque...they just need the right people attached. I think a great God of War movie is certainly possible.
Speaking of video game movies...Metro 2033...which was originally a novel, turned video game...looks to be on a very solid track.

You know the rule MOTH. If it's based on a video game, it is guaranteed to suck.
