Packers got Jobbed
I used to say the tuck rule was the worst game-deciding call ive ever seen, but a new precedent has been set. Thats gotta be the worst-officiated end of a game Ive ever seen.
Not only did they ignore Golden Tate shoving the DB standing in front of him in the back, but it was obviously an interception. how they can go back to replay and call that a TD I have no idea. Not to mention the PI on Sam Shields where he did nothing wrong and got grabbed by Sidney Rice.
my god I didnt think the replacement refs were going to ruin the NFL, just theyd miss a few more calls than the regular refs, but jesus christ, this is just out of hand.

Agreed. What a horrible game called by the officials. I have noticed something between tonights game and last nights game, it seems that the calls favor the home team even more than uaual and especially at the end of the game. Correct me if im wrong but thats how it seems.

Colin Cowherd said that exact same thing the other day. For the first two weeks, there were pretty much the same amount of penalties as usual. But Home teams were getting 2-4 more calls per game.

And to think I was angry at calls in the Bucs game. I'd probably have necked myself if I was a Packers fan.

It's gonna be an awkward meeting when Green Bay has to send the local butcher to complain to Goodell.

You hate to see it end on such an obviously bad single call, but it went both ways the entire game. Green Bay only scored a touchdown in the first place because of a bogus pass interference call on a Green Bay 3rd down.

The dude that defended the 2 point conversion should of been ejected before that play.

The NFL hasn't released a statement regarding the replacement officials yet. And why would they? People are going to still watch the games. The owners aren't going to bow down when they know they aren't losing any leverage.

So those tricky-tack calls makes up for that absolutely horrendous call at the end? Gotta love the 'Hawks fan's rationale here. Like they didn't benefit from bs calls during the game as well. The roughing the passer call on Wilson that negated the int was bs. The p/i on Shields was bs. Don't act like that last call evens out the game, in what world?

I'm just saying the whole game was ********. But as a Seahawks fan, I do think that everyone is acting like the Packers played far and above Seattle and the refs simply robbed them, when Seattle's defense had 9 sacks and no one is saying a word about it.

So does this terrible call rank higher than bottlegate? The Jaguars/Browns game from years ago.

For the record, as far as I can recall it's the worst call I've ever seen considering both the obviousness and the importance. I was texting a friend, starting with the bad PI call that gave Green Bay a new set of downs on their touchdown drive when it should've been fourth down. Gruden was really mad about it in the booth. There might've been another bad one, and then there was Sidney Rice getting a flag for jumping on top of Green Bay's cornerback, who was in perfect position looking back and tracking the ball. There's no rationale for throwing a flag in Seattle's favor there. But the flags were flying all game, and many of them questionable. Someone had to win, and the loser was going to feel slighted in this one no matter who it was. And if the Packers lose on a bad call?

Nobody is saying a word about it because of the awful end result. How can anybody NOT be talking about that end result? This is the exact kind of thing people were fearing all along with these refs
Seattle's D was AMAZING tonight. Even with that, they still lost the game, obviously. Refs taking a win away on a terrible call is going to get ALL of the talk over what Seattle did in the game. It's the bigger story
it's a shame to because Seattle's D was great, and it got completely overshadowed by this clown crew

not really if you remember last nights game it was Baltimore that almost got jobbed out of the game. If you remember, the whole crowd was chanting BS after they negated Webbs INT and then penalized harbaugh 15 yards for trying to get the officials attention to call a TO. the PI call at the end on the pass to jacoby jones was the right call

I had to go watch a replay of that once you said. It honestly makes my blood boil and I don't care at all about the Browns. I'd say Bottlegate was worse, but this was also very terrible.

two things
1- it was a good game on both sides. I dont think anyone is saying the packers far and away outplayed the seahawks. if that was the case, it wouldnt have been a 5 point game in the final seconds. and yes there were bad calls both ways throughout the game. but certainly in the final 2 minutes there was a ridicuulous amount of bad calls that went the hawks way. But the point is the Packers won the game. The final play was not a touchdown, it was a horrible call, the Packers won that game. period.
2-i think that is really the shameful part of the whole thing is that no one is even talking about football anymore. It was a great game from the players and coaches standpoint. The Seahawks had a brilliant defensive effort in the first half, 8 sacks, incredible coverage and pass-rush. And the Pack, to their credit, did a great job adjusting and getting their offense going in the second half. And the Packers defense also played a great game. But when we should be talking about the football that took place, we are instead talking about the refs, and thats whats so pathetic.
And its not even one isolated incident, its everything. There are so many horrible calls, its really impossible to talk about the NFL without talking officials. I really tried to avoid it and just focus on the games being played, but it really is that out of hand. the old officials werent perfect they made bad calls and we still griped about it, but at the end of the day they got most of it right. What has taken place this weekend was just so ridiculous i cant even believe it.
Im honestly at a point where I think the refs might be taking money and trying to influence games and make sure teams dont cover spreads and stuff like that. theyre just replacement refs theyre not being held to any standard. i dunno its just hard to comprehend what is going on right now.
