Meh, i'm not mad at the refs. Or at Roger Goodell. I ain't even mad!
Obviously the situation sucks, but it is what it is.

My first reaction when I saw it was that it was simultaneous possession, but I didn't properly understand the rule. Having read the rule and seen the replay (not even the fancy sports science replay in the link, just the regular replay) you'd have be nearly ******** to not agree that it's not a touchdown after watching the replay.
Quote:
|
Rule 8 - Section 3 - Article 1 - Item 5: Simultaneous Catch. If a pass is caught simultaneously by two eligible opponents, and both players retain it, the ball belongs to the passers. It is not a simultaneous catch if a player gains control first and an opponent subsequently gains joint control. If the ball is muffed after simultaneous touching by two such players, all the players of the passing team become eligible to catch the loose ball.

Now, whether or not I would have overturned the call if I were the replay official, I don't know. It's easy to say that it's indisputable video evidence, but we've had two days to think about and analyze this. The replay official had two minutes. The "safe" call is to stick with the ruling on the field and let those replacement refs take all the blame.

Yeah, so does she hate blacks? I'm trying to find the racist angle. Or what makes it "uncomfortable".
I don't even know why he brought up Nawrocki. Just to talk about a Jew... I was completely lost. Through the whole segment. Just, lost.

I'd also love to see Nalen get in. He was the best at his position for a good chunk of his career.
I wouldn't be surprised if Chris Carter is the only one of those three WRs who gets in. I think Harrison, Bruce, and Holt should all be coming up in the next few years, and Brown and Reed will get bumped out of the queue.
I'd put Keenan McCardell's chances at about 0%.

I asked some of my black friends and acquaintances if they found that picture offensive or racist in any way and none of them did, nor did they understand how it could be and in no way does that surprise me. Jamele Hill and Screamin A. Smith are put on the air solely to pull the racism card, especially when there isn't one to pull.

granted i'm not super familiar with his career, but i found it odd that he was even mentioned, given that brown and carter are still not in.

Will Shields probably deserves to go in this year.

Dunno. He's actually head of Isaac Bruce and Jimmy Smith in receptions. Had one of those quietly productive careers.
But with the bias against receivers, none of those 3 I mentioned there are getting in.

Maybe this is the year one of the WRs breaks through. I still think all three of them deserve to be in.

i dunno, i'd make the same case against those stats as i did against curtis martin (and we see how much effect that had). playing for 47 years and never being in the top five, let alone being the best, just shouldn't qualify you for anything. but the nfl hasn't seen fit to add me to the selection committee yet.

Didn't Curtis Martin actually lead the league in rushing a time or two though? I think he had more of a case than some of these 2nd tier WRs at least.
But it's ok, we all just need to wait for Hines Ward to become eligible. His highly productive career, multiple Superbowl victories, charismatic personality and hard nosed play style will get him in first ballot. Surely. And he deserves it too. Seriously. Why don't you believe me? He deserves it. Really. Seriously.

He's listed at the top of the article with the bigger names for 1st year eligibility, like sapp!

Ogden was one of the best tackles I watched growing up and Sapp was THE BEST defensive tackles I watched growing up, so they should be locks. Strahan is 5th in career sacks, so you would think he would get in. But Kevin Greene has 18.5 sacks more than Strahan and he hasn't been elected yet so who knows.

If Ward goes in the HOF on the first ballot then the whole thing is just a sham.
