Yankee fans, as an A's fan, I can tell you it felt like the A's and Yankees had incredible battles at the turn of the century. All A's fans have extra hate for the Yankees after those ALDS battles 2 years in a row.
If the A's and Yankees make the ALCS, do you consider it a story line a decade later to have these 2 teams matched up once again? Or is it similar to an ant's rivalry with a shoe?

Does anyone really feel like any of these AL teams are very good? I think Detroit might be the best even after their somewhat disappointing season.

Sorry, but, yeah.....I don't really feel any extra emotion playing the A's outside of the fact that they're a cool team that I like.

Not like the NL is impressive, either.

I like whoever comes out of that Nationals/Cards series over anyone in the AL personally.

As a Cards fan, I'm not feeling to comfortable about game 5 tomorrow. Our offense couldn't do anything today and we face Gio tomorrow.

Disappointing end to an awesome season for the A's. We went a lot farther than most thought.
Congrats Brodeur, if the Yankees advance I'll be pulling for ya.

Say what you will about Dusty but when you don't swing on a hit and run on a pitch that is REALLY ******* close to being a strike it makes everything look bad. I still maintain it was not a bad call and I have hated Dusty ever since the day we hired him. Bad execution? certainly, bad call? no. Ryan Hanigan(god love him) is a walking GIDP and they had to do something to avoid that. Had he grounded into a DP there would have been mayhem the other way like "WTF Dusty why didn't you get em runnning?!?!?!? You know Hanny does this like always!!?!?!?". It was actually a good display of understanding the type of hitter Hanigan is on Dusty's part. He does not take many walks and he does not strike out very often, he's either gonna get a hit that leaks through or he's gonna get put out on a weak grounder. If he even takes a swing and miss on that play Bruce is likely safe.

I agree with you. I just wouldn't have done it at that point in the game. They had Cain on the ropes and it bailed him out. Dusty coached a lot of games for my team, so I'm well familiar with his tactics. I was hoping he'd try it there. Hanigan sold him out.

It was certainly a risk on his part, but it was a calculated one IMO. You knew it was going to happen as it was attempted on the previous pitch. If nothing else it forces Cain to pitch from the stretch, and if Hannigan somehow gets even a single there's a run scored right there. He was trying to avoid the DP and unfortunately did not work out and we paid for it. Hindsight is 20/20 but I actually liked the fact that he made an aggressive move for once.
Really what he should've done was start arguing balls and strikes earlier in the game before Posey hit that HR. Hell, get yourself kicked out of the game on purpose, if nothing else it gives Latos a chance to calm the **** down for a min. Plus it fires your team and the crowd up by displaying a gigantic pair of testicles in a huge game. Chris Speier can handle this team as he already showed very recently.
EDIT: Sorry for this little mini-rant and congrats Borat and the rest of you Giants fans. If you get the chance beat the Cards for me. Please?!

Yankees starters hit only one home run in 4 freaking games? This evening, Yankees get to hit a ton of home runs. I have feeling about it.

I'm the type of weirdo who is really rooting for a O's/Giants WS only for the fact that both teams wear Orange/Black and it's...October
I mean come on, isn't that fitting?
