I'm pretty sure teams were limited to five. I'd rather subject Thomas Davis than either Beason, Gross, or Johnson though.

Who in their right mind would take his contract though?

What?
Our starting right guard, a 2nd year receiver who was out of football 2 years ago, our back up qb that costs us nothing, and Hardesty who is finally healthy.
Oh yeah, one of our main substitutes in our defensive backfield where we are hurting.
I don't get it.

Little is a serious disappointment and I have near zero faith he'll turn his game around. He'll be fighting for a roster spot next camp. Hardesty is just not very good even 100%-hurts to say but it is what it is. But taking a closer look, I found two guys worse then Colt and Lauvao-Marecic and Cousins. And Hagg isn't even active anymore.

Jason Smith
Pace

Keep in mind that Jason Smith, Eric Smith, and Bart Scott can be released without absorbing almost any dead money though, and no one would want to take on their contracts.

Just looked at the contracts for the Bears. I think I would change it to
Earl Bennett- Set to make over two million dollars each of the next three years. That is a bit much for a guy who has caught 9 balls this season.
Kellen Davis- Mediocre tight end making over 2.4 million next season. We could find someone better in the draft.
J'Marcus Webb- He only makes $575,000, but I don't want him on our team no matter what because if he is on the team, he's starting, no matter how terrible.
And since the Bears aren't in any cap trouble, throw in two scrubs. So...
WR- Earl Bennett
TE- Kellen Davis
LT- J'Marcus Webb
CB- Sherrick McMannis (who?)
TE- Matt Spaeth

Okay, but like you said, the Bears are not in any sort of cap trouble. This is basically five players we'd be comfortable releasing. I get the Webb hatred, and even more so the Kellen Davis hatred - but Bennett? If you had to release any 5 players on the roster, you'd release Bennett??
For context, in 2002, we put up Autrey Denson, Kevin Doggins, Danny Wuerffel, Than Merrill and Robert Newkirk. 5 total scrubs.

Little has had some drops but when he has the ball he's good and he's physical. He made some nice plays last week and has shown flashes, give the guy a break.
Hardesty is apparently better than Brandon Jackson so what's the point of getting rid of him. I just don't understand throwing away 2 skill position players that are young that don't cost us ****.

McGee is a pretty easy one, as he is somehow not on injured reserve. I think he hasn't been bad in the past few games, but it's clear that his body can't handle it. Multiple years at that price just can't happen.
Second kicker who was inactive this week. Yeah, no loss there.
Brad Smith I didn't even think about when thinking about this, which should tell you something. Had a return touchdown, but is not needed in that role. Or any role we try to use him in. I think he's our 3rd highest paid player on offense (the highest paid one you also have being cut). lolwut.
Moats, eh. Still cheap as depth. I probably would have gone with Kirk Morrison.
Erik Pears is way down from last year after becoming our highest paid lineman. Doesn't make a fortune, but something to think about. Sam Young is pretty replaceable depth on a multi-year contract. I probably shouldn't balk at average talent with our current depth issues.
I must say, it's a little surprising that Kelsay is not more of a thought, given how much people have complained about his contracts over the years and all the money we have in the line. "Cut Kelsay" was almost the "trade Ales Kotalik" of the Bills. But I don't want him gone.

Even in hindsight the best players the Texans could have gotten are a 31 year old Willie McGinest and a 30 year old Aaron Glenn (who they did pick). The rest was straight trash. Some of you are just giving ridiculous answers. James Jones, who already has 7 TDs and is getting paid less than $3 million a year? What a stupid ******* answer. And McFadden, Finley, Charles Johnson, Corey Webster, Matt Flynn, etc. Those guys would never be put up for an expansion draft.

I don't completely hate James Jones anymore, especially with the prospect of Jennings possibly leaving. Thought about Crosby and Bush but they're both good special teamers. I dont trust Crosby for a GW kick or high pressure situation but I trust him more than what other teams go through each year, the Cundiffs, Baileys, Folk, Grahams.

That's a good point, same probably goes for Calvin Pace frankly. The Jets could try to drop some more arguably overpaid high contract guys who would be dead money if cut but that pretty much just leaves Harris, Cro, and Brick and I don't know if the Jets can afford to get rid of any of those guys.

Yeah, seeing this many quality players is just not realistic. The Texans had a horrible pool of players and a horrible team that first year.
