As long as we make it through without Jennings this could actually be a good thing. Driving his price down after the year somewhat

His price won't go down all too much...look at Vincent Jackson last year; he was constantly banged up but once he hit free agency Tampa wasn't afraid to throw money at him and for a true #1 WR to hit the market is a rare thing and Greg will get paid big bucks by someone

So, Jennings may have a sports hernia. Jesus
Already have Woodson out 4-6 weeks. Jennings would be out around the same time if he indeed have a sports hernia and needed surgery. Add in Perry, Shields, and Raji still likely out. They need to get to the bye week fast

Well if there is any positive its that its a good time to happen. We need these guys in the end, and we have the Jags, Cards and bye. That's a pretty favorable stretch for us to have them out resting. Not to mention their all home games.

Packerz haz injuriezzzz...
In all seriousness though I really like to see us start to put it together the last few weeks despite the injuries. If my memory serves me correctly we were pretty decimated when we won the Super Bowl... Maybe the team just has to be broken.

A sports hernia misdiagnosed as a groin pull has to be the most common and obnoxious diagnosis ever. I went 2 years in high school before someone finally stopped sending me to PT for a groin strain.

Well, McCarthy never specified if Jennings indeed has a sports hernia or not, but said that Jennings was given 2 options. Continue his treatment/rehab or go for surgery. Whichever he decides won't change his timetable. McCarthy said they are looking at the same time frame with or without surgery. Jennings will speak with the team and decide which way he wants to go
Raji returned to practice today(limited) but was jumping around and looking like his old self, so that's good news
The bad news, Jordy didn't practice today and he won't practice tomorrow. HE's never dealt with a hamstring injury so they are taking it slow. He'll test it out on Sat or Sunday. Looks more and more like he'll be a game time decision. Thank god they face the Jags inept offense as the Pack may be without NElson and obviously Jennings on Sunday. Might be the game where they need Finley to step it up
as usual, Perry and Shields were held out of practice and look to be OUT this week
man, and to think, after the first 4 or so games this year, the team was relatively very healthy and I thought maybe THIS year they'd avoid a barrage of injuries to important players. Silly me for thinking that. The bright side is that they are AT LEAST avoiding(so far) season ending injuries. Just need to get to that bye week already

the wonderful world of twitter. Shortly after McCarthy's presser, we finally get the full diagnosis
Jennings will indeed be getting surgery for an abdominal tear. Surgery will take place next Tuesday. NOT season ending.
Schefter reporting that the Packers are expecting the surgery to sideline Jennings ONLY 3 weeks. That's highly encouraging and sounds like a best case scenario, IMO. Either way, I think it's safe to say he'll be out at least until Week 12

I'm excited to (hopefully) see some of Jarrett Boykin. Guy looked great in preseason, from Gram Harrell.
I think he can do great things with Rodgers at the trigger.
Also excited to see Driver get some action.

James Starks needs to be given the chance to be this team's every down back. Alex Green has been shaky in his first three starts, and while James may not be the most exciting back, he did lead the backfield during our Super Bowl run and there's something to be said about that.

TRUE.... although he's really only shown he can last about 5, 6 straight games.

I'd rather see what we have in him for five or six games instead of continuing to go with less than mediocrity at the position. I think Alex Green still has potential for this team down the road, but he's currently not a suitable starter.

The B*tch Sandy Delays Jennings Return
Greg Jennings was scheduled to undergo sports hernia surgery for a torn abdominal muscle in Philadelphia on Tuesday, but coach Mike McCarthy said Monday it was postponed because of the superstorm Sandy on the East Coast.
"Exactly when he will go? That has not been determined yet," McCarthy said.

Nick Perry IR'd, his season is done.
Deja Vu all over again, like 2010. Can we have the same outcome?
Win a road Wildcard game.
Then win at #1 Atlanta.
Then win at #2 Chicago?
Then win the Super Bowl in an NFC dome?

With Perry placed on IR, Quarless was activated off the PUP list
Dezman Moses has shown some ability to get to the QB, but this still hurts their pass rush. PFF had a positive grade on Perry when it came to his pass rushing ability. Walden has been much improved over last year when it comes to playing the run, but he is still awful at rushing the QB
I wouldn't be upset if the Pack took another OLB in next years draft. They could use as many LBers as they can get. Improve the LB play and the D will improve. They need a playmaker at ILB as well as a legitimate threat opposite Clay

To be honest I'm not overly concerned about losing Perry. It's unfortunate for him but in terms of what he brings to the football field, we have guys who can fill his role. Walden can be utilized on the early downs and Moses can be given his chance on passing downs. Linebacker needs to be a position that Teddy invests some early picks in because outside of Clay we simply have no one at the position who can get to the quarterback regularly.
maybe we should try Ryan Taylor at OLB, who knows haha

Walden has been a pleasant surprise. Zombo could also get back into the mix. He's been out for so long though not sure how much help he can provide. Regardless can't afford to be without Clay for very long. He's not replaceable.

Rodgers doesn't have a single home playoff win yet.... and if we don't pass the Bears up, and settle for the 5 seed, he still won't by next year at age 29. Pretty interesting.... but again let's have a repeat of the 2010 playoff road if that's the case.
I don't like our weather at home in January, not condusive to our style, our strengths as a juggernaut.

As soon as I saw that replay, and Aikman mentioned the "Bo Jackson injury", I feared Bulaga's season was done.
Another f**** fluke injury for this team that takes a great guy off the field for us, like last year Nick Collins on a fluke play.
I'm tired of it. Except Houston last year with their 1 & 2 QB, I can't think of any contending team who has had worse luck with injuries than us, both this year and in 2010.

Yeah, rumors are it's a dislocated hip. Guess we will find out soon enough. I think McCarthy has a presser today
man, they cannot lose another Olineman the rest of the way. EDS is now the RG and that guy just isn't that good(at least, he wasn't last year). Sherrod sounds like he won't be ready to return this year, though it sounds like they are trying to give him a chance with the 3 week window to return to practice off the PUP list
