Polamalu not playing yet again. So frustrating. I wish they'd just give us a timetable instead of calling him week to week for half the season. Same thing they did to us when he got hurt in the opener a couple years ago. He was questionable for like 8 weeks.
Tough road game, no Troy, usually means its a loss.

Ryan will probably get MVP because I expect him to have the best combination of team record and stats come seasons end. He's got the protection of a dome, two great receivers and a very manageable schedule.

Projections for where they'll be at the end of the year, not necessarily where they are right now.
1. Matt Ryan: The Falcons should finish as the 1 seed, he has good stats right now and he still gets to play the Saints twice.
2. Peyton Manning: Other than at Atlanta he's been great every game.
3. Aaron Rodgers: In his "down" year he still has 21 TDs to only 4 INTs with a 69% completion rate.
4. JJ Watt: Even with Clay Matthews just half a sack behind him, Watt should be the runaway Defensive Player of the Year. But he's still a defensive player, which means he's at a disadvantage to the QBs. He could make the best run at MVP we've seen in a long time if he matches his first half production
5. AJ Green: Top WR in TDs and 6th in yards per game, while playing with a good but not great QB. Already the 2nd best WR in the game, but Calvin's lack of TDs keeps him from this list.

Yep. I didn't think we had much of a shot at a playoff spot, but the loss of Nicks pretty much means the Bucs are screwed.
How is it that this team has ended up with like half their salary cap on IR each of the last 3 years?

The Lions have traded for Jags WR Mike Thomas. Terms were not disclosed. Lions may also be seeking safety help via trade after Louis Delmas reinjured the same knee that kept him out earlier in the season.

Stupid trade. Mike Thomas adds nothing to the team that Titus Young or Ryan Broyles don't, he makes about $5 million a year, and he just isn't very good. The Lions need a solid number two across from Johnson and Thomas is definitely not that.

The Ravens are going to be tough coming off a bye and pissed off from their showing against the Texans.
On the other hand, we have Haden this time. Also, Taylor AND Rubin could be back which could help the run defense. I still wouldn't pick against Baltimore, but I think we have a decent shot here.

My edit isn't working. Turns out that was a fantasy football article. Don't mind me.

Bizarre trade from Detrot's perspective.
Are they moving him to DB?

I agree with #1-#4.
Victor Cruz has more catches and more yards, and the same # of TD's as AJ Green does.
But stats aside, I give the #5 spot to a different WR, Percy Harvin.
Harvin has more catches & more yards than Green & Cruz, fewer TD's, but in passes thrown to him, the QB is 60/79, vs 52/89 for Cruz, and 44/73 for Green. That's Ponder throwing the ball. Over 75% complete throwing to Harvin.
Harvin also has a rushing TD, and a kick return for a TD. He's been lethal. Used to love the guy when he was a Gator, but in purple, hate him. But gotta hand it to him.

That's a great example of how misleading stats can be when comparing the throws to Harvin versus the catches Cruz and Green are asked to make. Good job.

Victor Cruz and Percy Harvin also haven't had their bye yet.
So that means with the huge benefit of having played one more game Cruz has just put up 14 more yards and no more TDs. Catches I don't even value as a stat, but even there it's just 8.
Harvin, with the same benefit of one more game has just 31 more yards and 4 fewer touchdowns.
So yeah, those points you made were absolutely terrible.
As for the completion percentage to the receiver. That's almost all on the QB. Actually, you kind of have it all wrong, those stats make it more impressive for Green and Cruz. Their QB is only getting the ball to them 60% of the time and they still have those numbers. The reason the completion rate to Harvin is so high is because he runs a **** ton of screens, slants, and short routes.
And the return TD and rushing TD you added in still put him two short of AJ Green's 7.

That sucks. Hopefully the Bucs can cope. I want to see if they can actually turn the tables in the NFC.

Ravens rush defense has been weak. If Richardson can have a great day on the ground they might be able to control the game. But I wouldn't bet on it.

So today I did a spreadsheet of QB air yardage this season, a few highlights,
- 64% of Ponder's passing yards have been from YAC
- Sanchez leads the league with 66% air yardage, Luck and Wilson are tied for second at 65%
- Eli leads to league in air yards per attempt (AY/A) at 4.6
- Brady (3.9), Rodgers (3.7), and Roethlisberger (3.4) are all in the bottom half of the league in AY/A
- League average for AY/A is 3.8, average for % air yardage is 52%

Trade him for Alex Smith.
Or Mark Sanchez apparently would work as well.

Stop being so illogical and ignoring fact. Shaun Hill being a top 20 QB in this league is a FACT.

Thursday will be the first prime time game of the year that I will make absolutely no attempt to watch. Two of the worst teams in the league. TNT basketball double header all the way.
