I don't see a first rounder. He has the tools, but he's a very high risk pick and probably profiles as a backup or project. Rounds 2 - 4 most likely IMO. I'd say round 3, but guys do shoot up boards with great senior bowls, so who knows at this point.

This is basically what I think will happen....that some team falls in love during the All Star Game/Combine process.
We've had a LOT of raw/project QBs go pretty high in the draft the last few years. It's the new normal.

Something to keep in mind when evaluating every passer these days. I'm not sure you can say the standards are lower, but they're certainly very different.

I think you can argue either way. We've def. had raw projects go higher than they should, but others (Let's say a Ryan Lindley,) fall a bit. I think Dysert/Glennon will fall in the middle. Watching them, I like them both as back-ups with startable upside, but too much mechanical work needed for a Top 50 pick.

Do you even put Collin Klein on the list as a QB? He almost certainly will be drafted to play TE, or H-Back, or something.

Right now, yes. I agree he should change positions, but someone will give him a chance.

If Tebow had the chance certainly Klein deserves it as well, and without the price tag and franchise crippling expense of a First Round pick.

Do you likewise think that someone will give Denard Robinson a chance to play QB in the NFL?
I think "playing Collin Klein at QB in the NFL" and "playing Denard Robinson at QB in the NFL" are equally bad ideas.

So far mine looks something like this:
1. Matt Barkley, Southern California
2. Geno Smith, West Virginia
3. Aaron Murray, Georgia*
4. Tyler Wilson, Arkansas
5. Logan Thomas, Virginia Tech*
6. E.J. Manuel, Florida St.
7. Tyler Bray, Tennessee*
8. Landry Jones, Oklahoma
9. Zac Dysert, Miami (OH)
10. Ryan Nassib, Syracuse
I'm not expecting Murray or Thomas to declare at this point.

Logan Thomas is the worst starting QB in the ACC right now (not counting Maryland's Quarterlinebacker). He will never sniff the NFL as a QB.

Thomas has been awful this year, so I'm not exactly sure where he ranks, but I think he's more likely to develop into a starter than anyone listed after him.

Maybe as a Tight End.

Nope. Robinson already listed by scouts at a different position. Klein still listed at QB.

The quote certainly should have come with a disclaimer but probably served the purpose of providing a decent topic to talk about.
Exept for Mayock i tend to tune them all out over there.

If you still believe Logan Thomas can be an effective quarterback in the NFL, then I've lost all hope for your abilities to analyze anything more than rocks.
I thought Thomas was incredibly overrated going into the year, and he has just been downright awful. Needs to move back to tight end.

Derek Carr is terribly, FYI. Numbers are certainly misleading with him...

IDK. As a Chiefs fan (a team that hasn't drafted a QB in the first round in 30 years and DESPERATELY needs one), I'm trying to watch as many of QB prospects as I possibly can.
Glennon is an intersting study. All the measurables are there. Seems like a high character kid and all. But the consistency needs work. But I don't think the offense around him is all that great (unless I'm mistaken).
IDK, I can easily visualize scenarios where this kids draft stock ends up skyrocketing once he gets to the all-star games and when coaches start talking to him.
What are the odds that Glennon not only finds his way into the first roun but very high in the first round?
Note: I read the Bucky Brooks article and found myself agreeing with much of what he said in the article.

IMO Glennon is a high risk/high reward prospect. He was a top prep QB prospect coming out of Virginia, and if you saw him the UnderArmour allstar game in 2008 where he was named Player of the Game, you would have thought he was a can't miss future pro prospect. Huge arm, insanely accurate, looked like a man among boys playing against the best prep competition in the country.
Glennon was so intriguingly talented that NC State HC Tom O'Brien basically kicked Russell Wilson out of the program if he couldn't participate in spring football.
Coach O'Brien has called Glennon 'Matt Ryan with a stronger arm'. Maybe, except Ryan was I believe a 4 year starter at BC and was a more experienced QB coming out than Glennon is.
That's my issue with Glennon, not enough film. A team that drafts Glennon is going to have to make a spec bet that his best football is ahead of him and we haven't seen his full potential.
That same spec bet seems so far to have paid off for the Dolphins and Tannehill, why not for Glennon??
The trend nowadays in the NFL seems to be that you draft a QB more on potential than you do college production. It used to be that when a college QB was scouted, you looked at his college production first, then evaluated whether his style of play, skillset and physical tools translated to the next level.
Nowadays, it seems as if you can find 5 solid/good games in a year for QB prospect, and his tools are very good/elite, he ranks as a first round pick.
Glennon looks at least like a solid starter in the pros. I just don't know yet if he has the potential to be a pro bowl/playoff winning QB.
I'd love to read someone's opinion about how Glennon played against Tennessee since I didn't see the entire game. From what I saw I felt like Glennon wasn't making plays that his talent level said he should have.

Matt Ryan was a 2 year starter, 2006 and 2007.

He actually started a game his freshman year and 5 his sophomore year so technically i guess he started in all 4 years. Regardless, he started 31 games over his 4 years.

The issue with Glennon will never be physical. I question his mental aptitude for the game, which was the same issue his brother always had. Our OL is HORRID. Our WR's are below average. We have no TE that will sniff the league. With that said, Glennon has zero pocket awareness and is a statue in the pocket. He is horrible dropping back from under center and does his best work in the shotgun with a no-huddle type offense.
Against UNC, arguably his greatest game he has played in college, he went 29/52 (56%), 467 yards, 5 TD, 2 INT. His receivers had 10 (10!!!!) drops. One of the INTs was on the wideout. The other was a bad pass down the sideline to a freshman WR that was ridden out of bounds by the corner. The WR made no play on the ball, but it was a bad pass. I haven't watched the game back to see how many yards or touchdowns the drops caused, but I think it is safe to say without the drops he would have had at least another 75 yards and a touchdown.
If I am an NFL team, I don't touch Glennon unless I have time to develop him and a coaching staff that can teach him how to study film and apply it on the field. I'd love to see a competent coaching staff get a hold of his physical skill set.

that's b/c Klein isn't the freak athlete that can play another position in the NFL. He's just a really good college QB who doesn't translate to the pros.

He's a very intriguing prospect. Honestly, I can see a team like the Houston Texans or even Dallas Cowboys taking him in the 3rd round. Both have there starting Qbs in there 30's and can sit and learn for 2 years to develop.

Texans have Yates, so I wouldn't bet on them.
