I really look forward to seeing Cloud Atlas. I admire it;s ambition and it seems like the kind of film I will really enjoy.

This should be a scary thought, but with what my idea of Cloud Atlas is (could be way off), I'm not really too afraid of the negative possibilities that would be related to Tree of Life. It is quite the undertaking, though, and I really have no idea what to expect.

I fully expected buttfuck to be censored.

It was good. Didn't think it was buttfuck good or an abomination . Worth seeing in theatres though.

It wasn't as much of a mess as I expected it to be, which was a relief for me. It may not have been an amazing film, but it did carry some amazing aspects to it. It's one of those movies that kind of resonates in your head in the following days. As you know, there are a bunch of different stories tied into one. All had their strong points, but some were underwhelming and some I thought were incredible.

I really enjoyed The Campaign. There were times when I wish they had toned down the dumb a bit though.

Really? I thought the Campaign was just all right. You've got films like Wag the Dog and In the Loop that do a great job being funny and smart, the Campaign was just silly although fun when it was trying to be too political-like.

Yeah and the rest of that web series was **** after that video, so I am not overtly excited for the movie.

In The Loop and Wag The Dog are brilliant movies and I wish The Campaign was more like both. The potential was there and it had its moments but the message was lost in all the dumb. That said I still enjoyed it.

It is really good. I am sure your son will love it. It has a lot deeper of a story than I was expecting.

Eh, I don't think their message was all that good, kinda like God Bless America, it's the message that I think was the weakest part. The dumb and silly stuff however was funny.

I enjoyed the dumb and silly stuff for the most part but would have liked the movie more if it had been darker and more Wag The Dog ish. I actually though God Bless America was very enjoyable.

Oh I liked God Bless America to, but I thought the message part was the weakest part of the film...although I did laugh my ass of when the serial killer lectured america about being more nice.
Still Wag the Dog was different, it's message was so much more fundamental to the story and the humor. The Campaign and God Bless America were more comedies in a political setting, so the message was sorta just tacked on rather than being integral to the plot and ever step of the film. Plus I think the message of the Campaign was annoying oversimplified, with the bad guys being too disney evil to really say much. I get that people hate the Koch brothers, but what makes them scary is that they're not disney evil.

I agree with you on all points. Like I said, I wish The Campaign was darker. I enjoyed it but I saw a lot of wasted potential and you are spot on about the Koch brothers being portrayed as Disney villains. The message really lacked punch in part because of that. As for God Bless America I thought it was great but you are completely right in that the message could have been a lot stronger and that would have taken the film to another level.

Me agreeing with you? . Honestly, the message in God Bless America was so damn forced and unsubtle that it made Battle Royale seem hard to read.
