When I say #2, I meant like maybe 5 years from now. Of course, it would be hard to keep three starting quality WRs on a roster that long. Julio is likely gonna get a fat contract eventually, and Roddy may well still be good enough to demand big bucks when his current contract is up.

I watched the entire Stanford/Oregon game tonight and a few other Stanford games this year and I really like Stepfan Taylor, Standford's RB.
Just watching him run makes me hate how Turner runs even more. This guy can be stopped at the line for no gain but fights forward to manage picking up 3 yards. The guy has a quick step as well and is tough to bring down at 5'11 215. Not a home run hitting back by any means but just a good solid RB that runs hard, can catch the ball out of the backfield, pass block, plays in a pro offense and has shown hes durable.
I could see him being a solid 3rd/4th round guy.

I've always been a pretty big fan of Taylor's. Then again, not sure if he has the physical ability to be a big time player in the league.
I could see him ending up like a Pierre Thomas.

I've studied and scouted him already. I like what I see. He really fits into the mold we are looking for. Stanford guy, has the smarts. I like it.

Whether or not we have the balls to send Turner packing is another thing

I'm pretty sure we have the balls. We just don't have a replacement for him right now. Quizz is only a change of pace back and Snelling is not a quality NFL starter. If we draft a guy in the first few rounds and he impresses early in camp, Turner won't be coming back.

I definitely don't want to spend a first rounder on a back, that's one of my main things. We have too much needs on both sides of the line, and possibly a position like tight end. I wouldn't mind a runningback in something like Round 2 or 3.

after this season, we'll cut Turner and take that 5.5M and spend it on the entire rookie class. But Stepfan Taylor is a great fit for the offense. Been talking with a lot of the other guys about him and everyone feels he's a 2nd round-3rd round pick who could have a Frank Gore level upside.

I'm fine with a RB in the late first round, but he'd better be worth it. I want the next Steven Jackson or Doug Martin, not the next Mark Ingram or Chris Wells.

You're talking elite level RB now. That would be nice, but it's not something we really really need. With the solid offense we already have in place, we just need a guy who can come in and give the opposing defense a hard time. When Turner runs the ball it's like a play off for them. We lose yards or get back to the LOS. We need a guy who can get something positive on first and second down.
Turner hasn't done anything himself this year. If you want him to run for 10 yards, you have to have a hole that is the size of a school bus. Sometimes you have a free LBer trying to tackle you, a good RB will juke or shed the tackle once in a while. Turner will go down every time.

Gillislee runs hard and has good speed, Also can catch the ball out of the backfield.
Only downsides for him will be only 1 year as the feature back (granted this also saves his legs) but he fights injuries as well.
reminds me a little of a Deangelo Williams type.
Eddie Lacy I see being a solid back in the NFL. Big body, strong guy, runs extremely hard and is quite nimble on his feet for such a big guy. Not a homerun hitter but I'd love him in this offense. Ran alot of screens at Bama, pass blocks well.
He is a poor man Trent Richardson. Just doesnt have that elite speed to put him at that level.
I could see him beind a 2nd-3rd round guy.
Gillislee prolly no earlier than the 5th.

I haven't seen much of Gillislee, only saw his impressive performance against FSU.
If Lacy is there in round two, I take him. He runs extremely hard and has good feet for a bigger back. Catches the ball very well. Almost no wear and tear on his legs. Tough. Pretty much what you said.
Lacy and Rogers would be a decent combination, at the least.

Agreed. Gillislee was the offense for UF this year, he had a lot of good games. I feel he will be a solid contributor on ahichever team he goes to.
Lacy just has the size you like in an NFL back that can get you 3 yards when you need it most.

Gio Bernard declared for the draft. On par with Montee Ball IMO.

Ball, IMO, could be a great all-around back for a team like the Falcons, IMO.
I don't see him being a guy who teams can lean on for success, but he could be what we are looking for IMO.
Obviously, there are no elite backs in this draft.

Disagree. I think both guys are second round talents who can be valuable as three-down backs.

His whole game against VT is on YouTube. He had 250 yards rushing in the game. However, it's the OL, not Bernard, who impressed that game. IMO at least.
