Jason Garrett + our offensive line is a disaster. Not a single checkdown or middle route on that 3rd down. Just Dez and Miles running deep.
That never works against 2 deep safeties.

Replace Harris with Dunbar on punt returns. It's an easy call guys. C'mon.

That bothers me so much. In that situation of you feel comfortable passing on 3rd and 1 then why not run on the second down play? That's not just second guessing either, if you get into a 2nd and 1 and you've been running the ball well all game no way I pass two straight times there.

That Carr pick was making up for Claiborne messing up the Spencer pick. lol Now the D can get dangerous. Lets see them make a statement and put a stamp on this!

I'm tense too. There's a lot of time left, and there's still stupid penalties. Plus Garrett and close games...

It feels good to not feel like total **** after a game but regardless I wish we could maybe one day stop making horrible penalties on 3rd down to keep a drive alive. Seems like that's all we do now. Sucks Chargers couldn't hold on to beat the Bucs, but we are still in this thing even though I don't have any faith at all in us doing anything.

You guys see Fisher blow it with the rams? Kicked a game winning FG but got a delay of game with a TO in his pocket. Of course missed the next kick SMH...
As far as our game, Felix actually looked pretty good today. The line still sucks and Mo has to get his sh!t together. Looked like a rookie today for sure. Glad to get a win, now have 3 winnable home games in a row maybe we can make a run

Oh yea, and while I will be the first to crap on Felix, he looked like a back I had never seen before today. Jimmy Johnson even said it at halftime so I know it was noticeable. He had that extra wiggle in him to make a guy miss that he had as a rookie and he ran hard, he at least didn't look like total **** out there. Major props to him today.
Also on the long 55 yard catch Dez had, even though he was open I noticed how he caught it, and it was a hands catch away from his body. Typically when he does that he catches it, hopefully he gets away from that body catch crap.

I'm just glad our season still has life. We all felt the momentum change against us and penalties killing our chances to close the game out until Harris ran that kick back.
Real tough to win in Philly so I'll take this game with pride and hopefully this will catapult us in the second half of the season!

That was about the best way to win a game. Defense finally forces some turnovers and turns them into points. Special teams looked inspired. Dez catches the ball with his hands AWAY from his body.
Still a number of areas that need work. Doug Free is awful. Our playcalling still strikes me as closing my eyes and throwing a dart and ignoring anything else.
Two situations in particular. First being Down and Long (doesn't matter what down). Most of the time we call a play to get every single yard. 1st and 25 you can almost guarantee we'll be calling deep routes. There is no disguise in our playcalling. The Eagles all out blitzed with 2 deep safeties and we couldn't do anything because Dez was on a deep post. Miles was on what looked to be a go. Felix stayed to block. Witten stayed to block. Romo had two double covered receivers and 2 untouched blitzers. Why in the world did we not have a checkdown or at least one quick hit over the middle? -_-
When our offense keeps it to 1st and 10; 2nd and 7; 3 and 4; etc we move like clockwork. When we get into "trouble" situations our gameplan drives me nuts.
The other major concern is penalties on 3rd down on defense. -_- Not much more needs to be said there.

I forgot where I read it last week, but someone said that not only does our offense need to close out a game, but also the defense. The defense did indeed close it out last night with the fumble recovery in the end zone.
While our offense sputtered some in the 2nd half, I felt we were fairly efficient running the ball and no turnovers. The OL looked like crap in pass protection though.
Claiborne the last two weeks has finally looked like a rookie. Yesterday it was mainly the penalties that plagued him. Also on that TD catch, I felt he should've been more aggressive going after the ball.
I liked the way our defense defended against the deep ball yesterday. McCoy did have a few very solid runs, but we kept them to under 100 yards rushing. I'll take that.
Let's not sleep on the Browns this coming week, they could come in and make it a game.

I've got 3 things that could/should happen that would make me actually optimistic about the remainder of the season:
1. Costa should be back
2. Murray should be back
3. Callahan take over play calling
I know 3 is probably not going to happen, but I don't think we need to forget with the win that this offense still struggled and some of JG's play calling was again pretty suspect.

I don't think JG will give up play calling during the season.

I'm glad I'm not the only one noticing this. He rarely drops a ball when catching with his hands, and he was never a body catcher previously for us. He got into a bad habit and of course drops started happening. It was refreshing that he didn't try to basket catch that deep ball and trap it into his chest. Hopefully somebody is pounding that point home to him.
Romo had some nice things to say about him after the game also, Dez still has a ways to go but the improvements are there. It's crazy how he can be our deep threat downfield, or rack up YAC on short underneath routes, I think after some of the catches Dez has made on balls in the end zone he might be earning the trust of Romo on more jump balls.
