This gets me too. Although it seems like it comes true half the time for the Lakers.

The media is powerful as isthe pressure of the fans to make these things happen. Especially when you're as high profile as the Lakers are, combined with those expectations.

It is about time. Favors has had a good beginning of the season on almost 12 minutes of playing time.

He is terrible offensively, though.

He's not terrible at all. He lacks refinement and can't pass worth a damn, but the dude can finish and draws a **** ton of fouls because he is so strong in the paint.
His offense is definitely way behind his defense, but it's not like he's Asik out there.

I didn't say he was Asik level, but he sure as hell isn't good. For someone who finishes so well his ability to score is piss poor.
Fortunately though he is a superb defender.

Have to disagree with you. He put up ~17 pts. per 40 last year. That's far from piss poor. It's actually pretty damn good for a 2nd year player that was considered (and is) very raw offensively.

Hey now, Asik is averaging 11 PPG to go with his 13 boards! He's stopped trying to do stupid things, and seems to be improving every game. Hes also shooting 74% from the line on 40ish attempts, completely changed his stroke from last year and has been pretty dang solid. I mean he's still pretty poor overall offensively, but I don't know that he should be the standard for awful big man offense.

It would probably help if your point guard got an assist in 34 minutes of play. Christ, that's why I said Kyrie needs work goddammit.

I almost went Memphis big tonight but I thought too much about it apparently.
Well, I watched Favors play instead of following the box score, but other than that he was great defensively, the only starter in the positive with +/-, 3 Blocks and 2 steals. He really wasnt as bad offensively as he's made out to be but he has to continue to get to the line. Im pretty sure Favors missed like 5 shots within 4 feet tonight, whether they were layups or what not. Plus he was active on the O boards. I remember him getting two on one possesssion and actually finishing that one. He's still plenty raw.

Well I don't think there has been a 20 year old player in the history of the NBA that didn't need work. He's a hell of a lot farther along than most of them though.

Usually he drops at least a few dimes. Waiters has gone cold from the field and nobody else on this team can shoot to save his life. Times iz tuff
