Dee Milliner has the size that the Niners drool over.

Very good Vikings pick, and an excellent explanation. I think a MLB should also be considered early as Brinkley has struggled big time since the first couple games.

Fluker is interesting. If the Bears go interior lineman, it damn well better be a potential impact guy as opposed to a guy like Barrett Jones that everyone seems to have a boner for. I think I prefer Eifert there though.

Want Jake Mathews. Would give up whatever trade up it took to make it happen.

we've been forced to play derek wolfe at DE because he's not an nfl DT, not because we lack DEs. he's literally only capable of playing DT on clear passing downs.

I don't blame you. Personally, I'd probably rank him over Joeckel right now. He might have a hard time getting out of the top 10 though.

Is it a technique issue with Derek Wolfe? I've seen the dude listed at 6'5 and upwards of 300 lbs. He's got the size to play DT, but if he can't play against both phases of the offense, then why draft him so high with the goal of playing him at DE? Surely he's not an explosive edge guy. Does JDR run a similar defense to what Seattle runs, where they essentially play 3 DT's and can have a guy as big as Red Bryant at DE? Seems like that would be a good formation with Dumerville playing the Chris Clemons role of just being a blitzkrieging demon off the edge. Plus, Von Miller going about his existence as the pagan god of thunder and lightning.
Sorry. I've just been confused about that for a while. And how has Ayers progressed now that he's at his proper position?
Sincerely yours,
TH

he just gets washed out, the few times i've seen him inside on running downs. i don't know if it's strength or technique, since i don't see him there often enough. he does get a good push on passing downs, and i think he can be a stellar 3rd down DT, but justin bannan and vickerson are infinitely better, currently, on running downs.
ayers gets a lot of undeserved hate, and while he'll never live up to his draft position, it's hardly his fault or problem that mcdaniels didn't have any idea how to scout players. had he been a 2nd round DE, i'd have been perfectly happy with what he's done so far. he's a solid rotational DE. he makes some plays, and i haven't seen him do anything terrible. *shrug*
all i want for april is a trade up to get te'o. given how young we are pretty much everywhere, i wouldn't mind parting with what it sounds like it might take to move that high up.

With The Jags the two GM candidates are Steelers Ass. GM and Ravens Ass. GM I think are the likely hires when it comes to our Open GM spot this offseason and whether those GMs want to bring in their own coaching staff could push us towards a 3-4 Defense meaning Star who is a Haloti Ngata in the making and Jarvis Jones who seems to be a Von Miller type who can play that DE/OLB spot either one is great but Star is the guy I like.

I mean "Gabberting" in the sense that he's moving up on account of people not really liking the other QBs. He doesn't straight run out of a clean pocket like Gabbert, he drifts sideways and backwards like Foles (or a terrible Madden cheeser).
I cut his video vs FSU last night and that's really the only game Ive seen of him (and against UT week 1, but that was live...can't say I was watching HIM specifically). So it's not like I have a huge sample to go off of either.

ahhh, gotcha. fair enough. it's probably the only reason i like him. but i saw literally two quarters, and was really only intrigued because he was making throws barkley can't make in his wildest dreams. i'm sort of looking forward to the december lull to try to catch up on some of these guys.

Tac-there's nothing safe about Glennon. He looks like a coach killer. If whoever is running the Chiefs drafts wants a safe QB, it's Tyler, Geno, E.J. In that order.
Jones' medical will 99% hurt his draft status.

I bet Zac Dysert is gonna end up being your dude, but you're going to hate his hair so much.

ugh, he's the douchebag with long hair, isn't he? as long as he's less of a bro than gronkowski and osweiler.

When Tennessee finally got pressure on Glennon, his play really teetered off. It was like once the defenders got to him, they created ghosts around Glennon. Where before he'd stay strong in the pocket and let the route develop, he'd now rush the pass and release the throw prematurely. Same QB pressures, but he let previous negative instances affect his decision making. I think that could be a good thing, as a smart QB could then adapt to what the defense was doing, but instead Glennon got worse. But with that said, I don't think his OL did him any favors, and if I remember correctly, I believe his WR's didn't play well either. Not to mention, Bray torched the defense, the defense scored a safety, and Cordarrelle took a huge run in for another score. That's 16 points, and they did it in less than a minute's time. So he was playing from behind and probably felt he had to win this thing passing the ball, matching explosive play for explosive play, so naturally he'll make mistakes.
Besides, that was just one game. Either way, I see him as a Flacco-esque prospect, and that's his ceiling for me. And I think that's still a big compliment to Glennon.
Plus, he just looks goofy. That's a definite issue that he has to correct before the combine.
[PS. I hate evaluationg QB's. Ugh. Like, so friggin much.]
