Hopefully it's alright I post this here, but I wanted to gauge a very very basic interest in a game (not a mafia game, but a forum game nonetheless) and I didn't know if it was worth having its own thread and since this thread has been dead for a while I thought it'd be worth a shot to post it here.

Essentially, without getting into much detail at all, it's like a pseudo version of RISK and model U.N. combined. You essentially take over a country as their president and leader and control various military, economic, and political functions. I've done it other places with a wide range of success and people seem to love it so I thought I might pitch it here to see what people thought.

It's pretty fun because its very open to your own imagination in what you can do.

Dependent upon if people actually have any interest at all, I'll make a thread for it and explain it in much greater detail.

It really depends on the time commitment for me. With teaching PE as well as robotics this year, I'm not really in a position to do much on a computer until after 3:00.

Yeah, I definitely was concerned about that. Admittedly, I'm as non-political as you get though (which is one of the reasons I love this site). It's never really been an issue. Usually people get too wrapped up in trying to make their country awesome to really get involved in some sort of veiled political debate or attacks. To me, it's a game, and sometimes when I play it I do things political I would never support on a personal measure but do so for the sake of the game.

I'm going to make a thread about it since it seems some people are interested (although I can't really tell for sure since some people are semi-serious/joking).

The beauty of this game is its tempo and pace can vary greatly. Essentially, everyone has to write up a post addressing certain aspects of their country and when that comes in I (the moderator in this instance) will take it all into account and then write up a response and then the game moves forward.

It does require SOME commitment but in the past I usually make it pretty slow and then if people want to they can pick up the pace. That's the beauty of it.

Should I just make a thread in the mafia game subsection or in off-topic? Not sure if it really matters.

I'd say do it in the Mafia Section. Maybe we just rename it to Forum Games or something in the future if this takes off or people come up with/decide to bring/play others.

Alrighty. I'll put up a post up on it. I actually had it all written from previous uses with a few edits so you guys can check it out.

It's not nearly a time commitment as mafia game if that's what you guys are worried about. I like it because the pacing of it is not chaotic and time consuming as the mafia game.

Just depends. Another thing I like about this game is if we have a pretty serious, ongoing game people can jump in at any time of a currently uncontrolled country.
