I've been a huge Kaepernick fan since he was drafted so this has been a fun night for me. He's actually putting some touch on the ball now, and this team is the perfect fit for him.

No way does Smith play this well against this Bears defense, the 9ers now have a big decision to make about who is their starting QB cause Kaepernick is getting it done right now.

Gruden, Kaepernick isn't a rookie.

Where's the tight end, Jon Gruden? Mike Martz ******* traded him.

Pretty sure Smith's contract has an out clause after this season. Just saying.

Wasn't Wally Pipp actually decent before he got replaced? The analogy doesn't really work.

There is an out clause after each year of his contract, if I remember correctly.

Part of it is the offense itself. I don't know that this would work over the long term, but it's good for Kaep this year.
I think they should trade Smith this offseason. I'm usually the guy pointing out that "it's only one game guys!" when people like Gabbert or Sanchez choose not to suck for a week, but Kaep has been insanely legit. Some of those throws are ones 90% of the guys in the league can't make. Just that mix of athleticism and arm strength plus some polishing getting first team reps of the offseason...god damn.

Kaep is looking really good but let's not just forget that in the last 2 games Smith is 25-27, 4 TDs, 0 Ints.
The offense is just clicking.

While that may be true, its not like the Bears beat any real quality teams with Cutler at QB.

Alex Smith was techinically "decent" last year and for earlier portions of this year. Nothing to write home about, but not bad.
In his wildest dreams he couldn't pull of these throws. He just doesn't have the tools for this.

Guys, can we please calm down? This is one game. Don't put Kaep in the Hall of Fame just yet.

Oh come on. We've had worse quarterbacks have great days against legitimate defenses.
Chad Henne looked like Dan Marino against the Texans the other day.
