Wow I like New Girl a lot but I don't think it's head and shoulders above Community, Happy Endings, and so on. Nick is an absolutely great character though.

has new girl gotten substantially better? i watched some of season 1 and it was horrible. zooey was absolutely awful and there wasn't enough focus on any other character. i'd give it another shot if it's suddenly better now.

Once Community comes back that's my favorite, but Happy Endings isn't close to as hilarious, Sunny hasn't been as consistently awesome, 30 Rock and HIMYM don't hit those highs anymore.

It's better but I can see you not liking it.

Winston was great before he got pushed aside for Schmidt and Nick to take over.

Of course njx would hate it. But I thought season one was great to, it is better, but the show started high. The Wedding episode had me in tears, "This is my photobooth. I LIVE HERE NOW!"

it reminded me of early simpsons. too much focus on not interesting characters. but i didn't really watch the entire season, so maybe i just caught a few weak episodes.

I'd say give it another shot now. The characters are much more defined and because of that they can play up certain qualities to make everything funnier.

New Girl is consistently funny, but rarely hilarious. It never hits the highs of Community, Happy Endings, or Parks and Rec, but it never hits their lows either. It's just a solid comedy all around.

Really? I think New Girl is absolutely amazing at times. The highs are as good as any other show. Then again I just don't get you guys' love for Happy Endings, it's solid, but never hilarious for me.

I've never thought a single episode of New Girl was "amazing".. I always enjoy it when its on but I'm never excited for it.

This week, last week, the wedding, etc. I think they've had a number of simply incredibly episodes. But again Nick might just be my favorite comedic character since Jack Donaghy was new.

They said in the article mostly all of the episodes were already filmed so they can just give a dumb reason for the last 3 or 4 eps.

I think it would be ******* hilarious if they just never mention it. Don't mention his name again once in the episodes they hadn't yet filmed. That seems like it would piss Chevy off and that would be fantastic.
