A lot better than people were making it out to be. People out there thinking he was going to eclipse CC's record.

Carl Crawford money is dumb (for Crawford, it was always a terrible contract - megastar contract for a decent player). If they can't get Jacoby for under $17m/y, they should pass probably pass because his value is $75m/5y right now ($120m/7y if they keep him until the end of the year and he stays healthy and plays at or around his 2011 level).
I'm not arguing against trading Ellsbury. I'm arguing about giving ******* Victorino (who should be looked at as a 4th/platoon OF on a team like the Red Sox or Yankees) $13m/y to replace Ellsbury and acting like you're not handing out a contract that's worse than what you'd give Ellsbury.

Bringing Greinke into a big market is a huge risk, but I think he'll be fine with the Dodgers since no one in LA cares about sports outside of the Lakers.

There needs to be a salary cap. It's getting out of control.

Rumors, i.e. Jeff Passan, have the Phillies looking at a "big deal"...sounds like trading the city for Kevin Slowey.

Probably was referring to the media and public perception aspect of it.

Their pitching is much improved, which is what they wanted. At least.

At a price of keeping Francoeur/losing Wil Myers. Plus, Wade Davis isn't a very good pitcher as a starter and while James Shields is very good, he won't be there for very long.

Cool, they traded possibly the best hitting prospect in baseball to be a 75 win team instead of a 70 win team.
