I'll give him props for that. The team hasn't given up, and that's something that happened a lot in the past. There's still a long three more games to go. If he can keep them focused on bringing out their best every game then it'll show that his message is finally clicking. There is so much that can happen in the next three weeks, but if they play their asses off then they at least have a chance.

That's exactly what it is. That way they don't have to lose both guys at once. Smart though, that way Browner can be back for the playoffs. Still hinders them, but with the way the defense and Wilson has played, the Bears losing more may be more likely. Sucks they got handed a free W in Green Bay.

Agree with aces and e-man. I'm having a real tough time with JG because I do see quite a few things that I really like. On the other hand, I still see a lot of things that I don't like.
I do think he is trying to remake this roster. The problem is that with the financial constraints JJ has, he's not able to do it as quickly as we all would like.
I think more than anything, I would love to see JG allow someone to take over all of the offensive duties and allow him to do what I think he's best at, being a HC. He can get better at game managment and such. What I really like about JG is that these guys never quit and they have tons of grit.

It's just his in game adjustments are horrible, like way beyond bad. That is what scares me. He has a bunch of good qualities in a HC, no doubt. But in game adjustments, game plans for the week, etc are so vital in todays game. If you are way behind the curve there, your screwed.
He takes way too long to adjust to what isn't working, or finding something that does work. Also sticking with Free way too long, stop being afraid of making a bold move. Your the HC, if you suck as bad as Free has bench him. I'm all for giving him another shot next week, or whatever, I just hate the robo response about how Free 'fought hard' all game, then trot him out next week with 7 step drop backs and act shocked when Romo is drilled.
I like coaches who sit guys down. Mike Wallace was benched in Pittsburgh, and he's actually good. Like can still play at a high level. Just stop beating around the bush, your almost out of the playoffs, rock the boat. The rotation was a nice change, now on film we can accurately see both guys in action on that side.

Well, your points about his deficiencies (which I mostly agree) are fixed by an OC. The OC makes the offensive gameplan is primarily resonsible for adjustements, etc.
As for players, I think he's handled things pretty well. I think we've seen that he's willing to give guys a chance. I think the fact that he took playing time away from the $8 million OT shows that he is willing to make tough decisions. Remember when he made a comment about Felix not returning kicks? Everyone was bitching about JJ over stepping his coach and saying he would return kicks. Well, within 2 weeks, Felix was not returning kicks.
Let me put it this way, I don't think Wade would have had the balls to move Felix off kickoffs and give some of Free's playing time away.

Come home from work and see this:
@richiewhitt: Confirmed: Dez Bryant has torn ligaments in his finger and will have season-ending surgery, placed on IR.
I don't even know what to say, the football gods are just ******* on us with these injuries this year.
Lee
Carter
Dez
Ratliff
Brent
Coleman
Church
Scandrick
Then guys like Jenkins, Claiborne, Murray, Austin, Sims, Tyron, Connor, Hatcher, Spencer, etc. have all missed time and are still dealing with nagging injuries. It's just ridiculous.

As far as the wild card goes. Say we run the table, the only team I could see us catching is Chicago. Here's Seattle's remaining schedule: @ Bufflo, San Fran and St. Louis. They go at the minimum 2-1 and end up 10-6 and beat us on the tie breaker.
Chicago goes like this: Green Bay, @ Arizona and @ Detroit. I could see them going 1-2. Leaving them @ 9-7.

Holy mother of God. **** us right? There goes the season, so much for counting the wild card. That was sadly the 1 injury I didn't think we would be able to overcome *sigh* what a waste of a season...

I haven't seen this hit anywhere else. ESPN said he's seeing a specialist.

Seen it on twitter and DMN reported it and then retracted the story. Media might of jumped the gun we'll have to see.
The Mothership (dallascowboys.com) did report from Garrett:
Quote:
|
Cowboys coach Jason Garrett told DallasCowboys.com Monday that Dez Bryant (finger) is "50:50" to play again this season.

Who the hell put the injury curse on the Cowboys? I hope like hell Dez plays again because he's becoming a major x-factor.

I'd rather Dez have surgery now than him risk long term damage the way T.O did on his fingers. Ugh. Whatever, **** this season. ******* injuries man.

You make it seem like it's just up to the player and he said screw it. He came back into the game and scored a TD with the same injury. Let's not paint the picture that Dez just tucked it in for the year. All he's doing is seeing a hand specialist, if he is advised to shut it down for the year it's not because Dez said he didn't want to hurt his hand.

Dez is going to have the final say on surgery. If he has torn ligaments it is a pain tolerance issue and his ability to grip the ball. If it is a full tear it is impossible to do more damage to the finger. It can be splinted to create stability and can go out and give it a go but even with a pain killing injection it might hurt like hell if he hits it right.
He was able to finish the game and catch the 27 yard TD with his hands with little issue so I think it is possible.

If you guys lose Dez that's a huge blow. I don't think he's out though. I think he can play through it.
I have to say, I may have underrated Anthony Spencer. The guy doesn't rush the passer as well as you'd like, but he's very good at everything else. And he does get pressures. He just doesn't finish the job as much as you'd like.

8.5 sacks tthis year. With everything else he does hes probably gonna get a big payday at the end of the year.

Sounds like he's stepped it up in the sack department this year. Does Dallas pay him or let him walk?

I would like to see him stay but I can see him getting a ridiculous contract this offseason like Robinson did last. I really hate players who turn in stud years for a contract but I have always wanted us to lock him down anyway. Now it's going to be too costly to do so.
Latest news I read on Dez is that it's a broken finger and surgery is on the books. I'm really hoping this is not just a character building season.(the team embracing "Next guy up") but also if we can capture that magic in a bottle that the Packers did when they went to the big game. That injury list was just as horrific as ours and they turned up to win a superbowl.

Actually Dez has a fractured finger. Not sure if there's other damage or not.

Without a doubt. He's a key cog in the way Rob calls his defense. His run defense hasn't suffered while his pass rushing has been a huge lift. He's also got the same knack for sack/strips as Ware.
Dez :(

You didn't underrate him, he's just playing better this year... this isn't the Anthony Spencer we've been accustomed to watching.
