Donofrnio hire him Temple.
Embarrassing that USF, Cinci and WKU hired the best coaches.

I don't think Peterson is necessarily interested in a premier job (he could have had the Florida job, for example). I think fit matters much more to him, and I could see Madison being a good fit.
I don't think he'll take it, of course, because he hasn't taken any other job. But I just don't think he's holding out for a big school, because he could have jumped to a big school a while ago.

Heeeeell nooooooo. We already had him here once, and he was terrible. He burned a lot of bridges on his way out. Golden is his boy, so he pushed for the interview. AD still likes Golden since he was a class act guy.

The guy isn't just going to leave for anyone, the biggest thing keeping him in Boise is his daughter's illness and the relationship she has built with her doctors there. That was part of what made him think a little about the UCLA job because he would have had some of the best doctors available to him at his disposal. I just don't see Madison and Wisconsin's program being something that makes him drop everything and leave.

I know all of that. So you don't think he'll ever leave Boise State? At a certain point you'd think he would want to try and win a national championship, which he'll never do at Boise State unless they miraculously get an invite to the Pac12.

I think he might leave, being a USC homer and what not I believe he might be the first person they would call if they can Lane after next season. A job with that prestige and what almost drew him to UCLA with the doctors and resources of being in L.A. I just don't think there has been that one job that has really made him consider leaving.
Penn State may have been the job had they not been going through what they got going on, and UCLA/Stanford were solid jobs but just not enough to pry him away. Jobs that he would obviously have to think about that may very well open up in the next several years would be.
Texas: Mack seems to be wearing out his welcome and you know the boosters want wins. They would likely target some people who know the area first, but he has the resume to coach there and would have unbelievable resources and it would be one big paycheck to turn down
USC: If Lane can't get it together and they can him, Los Angeles and an elite coaching job would be tough to turn down. His offense is suited for their style of play and like Texas, the money they can offer is more than most.
Oregon: I know they have said that if Chip leaves he wants to know the OC will be next in line but Chris has coached there as an OC a while back and it is an elite program in the Northwest.

Looks like FSU RB Coach/ST Coordinator/Recruiting ace Eddie Gran will be taking the HC job at Arkansas State.
EDIT:
Possibly as the OC for Cincinnati, conflicting news right now.

Wisconsin gauged interest Al Golden according to a source, but he is not entertaining interest from the Badgers or other colleges now.

Multiple programs have reached out to Al Golden, per source, but he is excited about youthful roster and fact UM is already moving forward

HATTIESBURG, Miss. -- Southern Mississippi has hired Oklahoma State offensive coordinator Todd Monken as its next football coach.
Monken was introduced during a Tuesday afternoon press conference on campus. He comes to the Golden Eagles after two successful seasons leading the Cowboys' high-scoring offense, which is averaging nearly 45 points per game this season.
Monken replaces Ellis Johnson, who was fired on Nov. 27 after finishing with a 0-12 record in one disappointing season.
It's the second time in five seasons that Southern Miss has brought in an Oklahoma State offensive coordinator to lead the program.
The Golden Eagles hired Larry Fedora away from the Cowboys after the 2007 season. He finished with a 34-19 record over four years at Southern Miss before leaving to become North Carolina's coach.

I really like Monken. Guy really gets fired up and has had success at the pro/college level.

I like that he comes from the same system as Fedora, who really had these players rolling last year. There may be enough of them still around next year to make that link schematically relevant.

Well Monken was a pro guy up till he took the OC job at OSU. He learned a lot of that stuff on the fly which makes me think hes a very good coach. He has a lot of different experience.

He'll need it. Southern is coming off an abortion of a season, and their would-be QB savior Anthony Alford may jump to the Blue Jays if he can't get his arrest behind him and get back into the good graces of the athletic department.
Gonna be a tall task, but Southern wasn't 0-12 bad from a talent standpoint. A turnaround is definitely possible, especially in Conference LOL...er...USA.

The Badgers seem to be in no hurry to hire a coach. Predictions on who ends up in Madison?

What a colossal piece of ****.
Quote:
Tommy Tuberville's decision to leave Texas Tech to take the head coaching job at Cincinnati was surprising to some but not nearly as surprising as it was to a group of recruits who were in Lubbock visiting the school when it happened.
Junior college offensive lineman Devonte Danzey was taking his official visit to Texas Tech along with lineman Sonny Odogwu and wide receiver Javess Blue and the trio began the weekend by heading out to dinner with the Red Raiders coaching staff at a local restaurant.
After asking the coach how long he intended on coaching at Texas Tech, Danzey said Tuberville got up from the table.
"The waitress brought our food out, and we thought (Tuberville) went to the bathroom, but he never came back to dinner," Danzey told 247Sports. "Then next thing I know, the next day, he made an announcement that he's going to Cincinnati."
Danzey said he and the other recruits did not learn about Tuberville's decision to take the Cincinnati job until an assistant coach told them during their tour of the campus the next day.
"Everybody was going crazy," Danzey said. "The players were shocked, too. We still had a good time at night, but it was crazy how he just got up and left out of nowhere and left people in the dark and in the shadow."
Danzey said he will still consider Texas Tech depending upon who they hire as Tuberville's replacement.

Apparently Auburn will make a run at DayDay Craig, FSU's "QB Coach" (that term cannot be used loosely enough) and Recruiting Coordinator.
Losing his recruiting would suck, but if it opens up the chance to get Chris Weinke on staff, then I am all for it.
