Poll: Rookie of the Year (week 16)
We've seen people try and make cases for each of the 3 great rookie QBs, and each have some valid angles, obviously.
Vote time.
Be real here and base it on their production, not how you like them, who was hyped more, who you think will have the better career, longer career, etc.
Production so far as we enter week 16.
Here are the basics, starting with the overall passer ratings.
Robert Griffin, 104.2 (#2 in NFL), 18/4 TD/Int, 2,902 yards passing, 748 yards rushing, 6 TD runs, team is 8-6, tied for 1st in division
Russell Wilson, 95.5 (8th in NFL, right behind Matt Ryan), 2,697 yards, 21/9 TD/Int, 402 yards rushing, 3 TD runs, team is 9-5, current #5 seed
Andrew Luck, 75.5 (30th in NFL), 20/18 TD/Int, 3,978 yards, 233 yards rushing, 5 TD runs, team is 9-5, would be #5 seed
None of the teams was good last year.
Colts were horrible, for the one year, with the Manning loss.
Washington was bad.
Seattle was okay but that offense was stale.
Team Numbers:
Washington has scored 381 points.
Indianapolis has scored 309 points.
Seattle has scored 350 points.
This is a tough vote, but I'll start: My Ballot:
- Griffin
- Wilson
- Luck
What's your ballot look like, who gets your #1 vote?

DangeRuss re-entered the race this week. His numbers all of the sudden look very good.
Luck needs to keep his int number under his Td number.
A loss to kc might Knox him out.
And griffin needs to play.
I think the elimination should go like this.
1 make the playoffs.
2 best numbers. Unless griffin sits last 2 wks.

You ask people to give their opinion but tell them to base it on production which you have stated. It's pretty clear how you have put this is to get people to agree with you that RG3 should be the OROTY, however as we have seen from the last one of these threads some people clearly didn't agree and it got pissy, enough to have the thread closed

He won't win, so I didn't take up the space to put him on.
But you can write him in if you really think he deserves the award.
He won't finish higher than 4th place though.... I'll take $ bets on the side if you disagree.
If Peterson doesn't win MVP with what he's done, as a RB, for a team with more wins than Tampa Bay has, then Martin and his numbers have no chance against these 3 QB's all in playoff contention.
What's your ballot look like, let's see it....

I think Luck's play has been vastly overrated this year. As a team, they've beaten two teams with a winning record. He's a turnover machine. To put it into perspective, Luck throws 1 interception for every 31.3 attempts. Wilson throws 1 interception every 39.2 attempts. Griffin throws 1 for every 87.8 (!!!) attempts. Griffin fumbles more, but can probably be attributed to his running. Luck has fumbled 10 times to Griffin's 11. Wilson has fumbled 5 times.
Total Turnovers:
Luck - 28
Wilson - 14
Griffin - 15
Luck is very good and will be good for many MANY years to come. However, right now I'm giving it to Wilson, with Griffin a close 2nd.

I'm not saying it's ok to throw interceptions and fumble, but Luck has attempted over 200 more passes than Griffin and Wilson. Luck also doesn't benefit from being able to hand off to the NFL's second or third leading rusher. QB play is about more than counting interceptions and assuming the guy with the least is automatically the best.

I don't think that Luck's struggles lately are really his fault, but his performances have not been good enough for the last 5 weeks aren't really OROY-worthy. And it's not the award for who would be the best if all other variables were equal. Luck has a bottom-5 OL and never has a clean pocket. He is in Bruce Arians' terrible offense and throwing downfield way too much. He's clearly worn out. I don't blame him, but I can't say he is the OROY. 5 weeks ago I would've said Luck was clearly the guy.
I also don't think it's RG3. My vote goes to Wilson. It's amazing how close the Seahawks are to the playoffs, and even winning the division. RG3 has been great but Cousins' success in his place is off-putting. RG3 is more popular so he will probably win it. But for me Wilson is the winner.

The difference in the Seahawks offense this year and last year is dramatic, and the only difference is Russell Wilson. He's got about 75% percent of RGIII's rushing production, and their TD-to-turnover totals are basically the same. Wilson's just had a few huge weeks in a row to put himself right at the top of the race. If the vote ended today, I think it might be RGIII by a hair. But, of course, it doesn't. This race is going right down to the wire for sure.

1 RG3
2 (almost 1b) russel wilson
3 A Luck
RG3 has been kinda lucky with his fumbles, losing a few more wouldve definately hurt his resume

I'd go with Wilson for rookie of the year but there is a lot more to that offense this year than just him. Rice and Tate have emerged and the offensive line was a mess last year. Their defense is much improved too, which gives them more opportunities and better field position.

As far as personnel its almost the exact same offense aside from the OL that was riddled with injuries. Yes certain players have emerged, but by the same token some guys have regressed. And its tough to say if that is a product of Wilson's leadership and work ethic. The guy is studying film and giving his WRs info on upcoming defenses while everyone else is sleeping.

Rice emerging could easily be argued as the product of Wilson's development. He's been good before w/Favre, he just needs a good QB throwing the ball.

I went with Griffin followed by Wilson and the Luck. First of all Rookie of the year is an individual award so team success shouldn't play much of a factor. Griffin has been really exciting to watch. He has been really accurate and has only thrown 4 interceptions as a rookie. I know he doesn't throw it as much as others but that is absolutely incredible. I have also seen his receivers drop alot of passes that any NFL WR should catch. He has made the Redskins relevant again. Wilson is a close second, he has been great. It just seems Like Wilson has "it" whatever that means to you. Luck has been great as well and he is gonna be great for a long time but he is still only completing 55 percent of his passes with almost as many picks as TDs. I know he has to throw more but still I cant justify putting him ahead of the other two. Luck has seemed to have a lot of luck, no pun intended, in some of those games. I think all those close wins have some people overlook the fact that he has had a fair share of growing pains and isn't the greatest player ever yet.
