Davante Adams really impressed me a couple of times while I was channel-surfing and caught a chunk of the SMU-Fresno State bowl game. Did a little digging, and saw that the guy making circus catches and wearing no. 15 was just a freshman, but had posted 102 catches for 1312 yards and 14 TDs on the year, with 11 of those catches for 144 yards coming in the SMU game. At 6'2" 200 I figured Fresno State had landed a 5-Star prospect or something, but scout.com only had him at 2.

I felt like I was watching an NFL player when I saw him, was surprised to see he was only a freshman, and even more surprised when I learned he hadn't been highly sought-after. So he gets a mention from me here. I'll be keeping my eye on him.

EDIT: Having looked at his profile, he is a redshirt freshman. So there's that.

Also - wasn't highly recruited probably because he only broke out as a senior in high school, posting 64 catches for 1094 yards and 12 TDs after only 29 for 484 and 7 as a junior. Was also a 2-star basketball recruit, a testament to his overall athleticism, and his Fresno state profile says he runs a 4.48 and has a 42" vertical. Kid looked way legit to me.
