Not sure how many in here remember the hall of famer but I'm throwing out the Lawrence Taylor comparison for Clowney.

The big ten is getting it's ass handed to them all day and Wisconsin is last in line.
Stanford's defensive line could stuff Ball, but I think they might not even have to if they can extend their lead to 20+. Wisconsin averages 170 passing yards a game.
Stanford makes tough plays, I don't see Wisconsin making them.

Big Ten had a couple better showings than I expected. Michigan played a really good game. Nebraska hung with Georgia till the 4th before Georgia put them away. Northwestern with a big win.
It's not a good conference but given three strong SEC opponents I think they showed up better than expected. Except Purdue, that one was truly ugly.

One day down the road, Hogan's gonna be dueling against Luck for Superbowl rings.
It's a shame on major forums Stanford threads are non-existent whereas crap teams like "Da U" is still deemed a player.

Yea, it wasn't as bad as Alabama but then again that Clowney play was the most brutal thing I've seen in a while. Oh, and they let up a TD by the backup QB with less than 30 seconds.
They played it close, but they also got posterized.

Played it close = posterized, ass handed to them?
Good thing you mentioned the Alabama game, which was 4 months ago...really relevant.
Is this the same backup QB who went into Clemson and won? Oh, I guess he's not very good then.

Stanford has really been built up into quite a program. They are going to be a huge pipeline of talent to the NFL in coming years. Their whole front 7 will be drafted.

Stanford also recruits well across the nation. The grade requirements make it tough to get some guys though. With Shaw looking to be here for the long haul, we could turn into a pretty good program for the next while.

If Wisconsin loses the big ten is 0-4 today and 2-5 overall with no significant bowl win.
Michigan was close, but it doesn't matter. Purdue wasn't even competitive. At least Nebraska didn't give up 70 like they did in the big ten championship.
Those two plays, the Clowney FF and recovery and the last pass for the TD are what people will remember. Not Michigan.

I wouldn't really call Dylan Thompson a backup. Technically he is, but he's played a good amount for us, and to be honest, he's a better pure passer IMO than Connor Shaw is. His game against Clemson was one of the best QB performances of any passer in the Spurrier era. Spurrier prefers Connor for his experience and the fact he's more conservative than Dylan(the same thing that annoys many fans), but Thompson opens the offense up to the kind of Fun and Gun vertical passing attack Spurrier ran at Florida. It will definitely be an open competition this spring.

Northwestern won today. If you're going to hate, atleast get it right.
Being 2-4 right now sounds bad. But people really expected 0-6 and Michigan had a much better showing than I expected. Not to mention Wisconsin is playing a great first half as we speak. Impressive to see them hanging with Standford.

The Big Ten was hurt by Penn State and Ohio State being ineligible and Nebraska blowing in the B1G title game. Considering the circumstances, the B1G showed better than expected. Nebraska played #7 Georgia close for 3 quarters, Michigan was a blown coverage away from beating #10 South Carolina, and Northwestern handled a favored Mississippi State. Prior to today, Michigan State beat TCU and Minnesota played a far superior Texas Tech team close. The B1G were underdogs in all seven of their bowls and they will likely come out with two wins and three closer than expected losses. The B1G didn't have a great day, but they didn't embarrass themselves either.

I wasn't calling Thompson a backup QB, Cigaro.
Who gives a **** about Purdue? I ain't arguing about them or Nebraska..but you need to get your facts straight about getting your asses handed to you. I'd expect a Panthers fan to know better. And as a Titans fan, I can tell 59-0 is getting your ass handed to you, whatever GB beat the Titans by two weeks ago was getting your ass handed to you. Losing 33-28 on a TD with 11 seconds left...don't see how that applies. Oh wait, the one hit Clowney had negates the rest of the game that was played. Yes it was impressive and probably turned the game into SC's favour, but lets not pretend that turned that game into a drubbing.
You said that every one in the Big Ten got their asses handed to them. I said Michigan didn't. Now you're whole argument is that no one will remember Michigan in this game. Yes, everyone will remember the Clowney FF and TD...but guess what, unless they doctor the film of the game, that same recognizable helmet will still be videos they have on Youtube, they play on highlight shows.
Nice try tho.
