The release clause is rumored to be ~7.5M, which kinda sucks. Apparently, it would cost the team who buys him ~15M in total though when agent fees are considered. Not to mention the 90k/week he is asking for.

Luka Modric and Alex Song voted the two worst La Liga transfers of the season. Not really surprised. I didn't think Modric really had a spot in Madrid's lineup, and he has proven he hasn't. Alex Song being rated one of the worst is probably a little harsh, as he was brought in solely for depth which is what he has provided.

Yup. The shape of the team would be amazing IMO. We are set up perfectly for a 4-3-3 if he comes. Debuchy and Santon are great at providing width, Anita, Cabs and Tiote have the perfect mix of steel and creativity and the front 3 in theory should be able to knock them in with hba and remy out wide and cisse cleaning up everything in the box.

Newcastle should focus on the EL n avoiding the drop this season. Make a deep run in your Cups, work on the depth and defense over the summer, n you could be an outside contender for the CL.

I'm hoping by the time we start again in Europe we would have enough points to consider ourselves safe. We have a nice run of games coming up which should all be winnable. If it get's to February and we're still in the same position than i'll agree with you.

But it's not as though we've been playing our starting 11 in these European games before. It's been more 4 or 5 starters and the rest subs. It shouldn't of effected us as much as it did, but I think it has a mental effect of causing the team to be less focused on the next match.

Yeah, if you're still fighting the drop as Europe starts again you can't waste too many points resting your top players, but if you focus on Europe n winning the games you should I think you leave yourself best set up to keep improving and have a big year next year.
