Andy Reid hired as Chiefs HC
They knew the dangers of taking Mr. Reid out to dinner and yet they did it anyway! All joking aside, that seems like a ridiculous amount of time to meet with someone if they weren't about to hire him.

All in one day??? Damn.
I think I'd lose my mind if I had a 9 hour job interview. Crazy.

Ahh okay, just went with what ESPN told me. Looking forward to seeing where he goes. Too good of a person, let alone too good of a coach, to not have a job for too long.

If he makes it there. The Chiefs are really good at this tactic. They won't let him leave if they want him. He'd already be signing off on a house if they meet in KC, but they would have to give at least a few days notice to the local restaurants first.

I prefer Horton but the fact that he isn't hired after 9 hours probably means that it was his choosing not theirs

I wonder how much of that time was spent talking about the QB position/what his trusted scouts think about the No. 1 pick, specifically...

Have they interviewed the token Rooney Rule guy yet?
If not, they better not hire Reid.

If it was nine hours, it means that they were trying to convince him it's a fit; it wasn't the other way around.

I feel like, if you just fired a black coach, you shouldn't be held to the Rooney rule. I know that sounds bad.

What if they fired him because they didn't want a black coach? So because they are blatantly racist they shouldn't have to interview a minority? That makes sense.

Ok, assuming that they're racist to the point of insanity and fire a guy just because he's black, they're not going to hire a black guy no matter what, right? That renders the Rooney Rule pointless in that case.
Ergo, ipso facto, columbo, oreo.

Well KC is a great spot. They have number one pick and can get a mobile QB for Reid but does he want a mobile QB? Smith is a duel threat but more of a pocket guy it seems from the bowl game.

What mess? The mess was the misuse of the roster by Daboll/Crennel on offense. That's a top defense if the offense can do anything. I don't see Bowe going anywhere if they get Reid and the rest of that WR group fits in really well with what he likes to do. He has everything he needs on offense already (OL, WOs, TE, RB that all fit what he wants to do) and gets to hand-pick his QB.
There's a ton of talent on the roster and a ton of cap space to go after guys.
