According to the Wiki, Booster cards with the same type as the base card give a 24xp bonus right off the bat. So if you run a mixed deck, you might want to ration your burn cards.

Have Red Hulk, Thor, Jean and Surfer maxed out, need to find a legit 5th card. Iron Monger and beast are kind of meh but their abilities are solid. Not sure if I want to level them up or try for something else. Iron Monger on O and She Hulk on D might be decent. Oh also I need that other Red Hulk GIVE IT TO ME.

So I have a couple of questions after playing for a bit and doing a bit of research...

The names in the parentheses like [Psychic Katana] for example... what do these mean and how do you get them?

Can you theoretically turn a base card Wolverine into any of the top level ones with enough fusion?

What do the + after a name mean?

What's the best way to get more rare+ cards? Is there a reason to do the higher level missions where the rewards are seemingly diminishing as far as XP goes? (for example is this how you get the rares?) or would I be better smashing the level 3 missions and getting 1.5xp per energy point?

Whats the best way to generate mastery points?

Cheers, hopefully these are all pretty simple and I'm just being a ****** because it's late!

They're just a different card. There are multiple versions of most heroes, so they had to distinguish them somehow

If you're talking about the STARTING Wolverine, no. You can't get a duplicate of that card, so you can't fuse it. If you're talking about any of the other Wolverines, you can get multiples of them, so you can fuse them.

You can spend real money to buy card packs, but the chances of getting something good is very low. You basically have to get lucky. It isn't easy to get the very top cards, and it shouldn't be. And the rewards for the higher level missions aren't rarer cards. You will eventually get resources that will give you some better quality cards, but you have to get lucky.

Whats the best way to generate mastery points?

Fighting in missions and fighting players. Mastery goes up through both of these.

1. The [Psychic Katana] leader basically is another version of the Hero or Villain. Usually they are stronger so like [Deathless] Wolverine is better than Wolverine. You get them from card packs generally.

2. You can only fuse to a certain point. Some cards can fuse once some can fuse four times (Jean Grey for example).

3. The "+" after the cards name means it has been fused. So I fused 2 [Psychic Katana] Psylocke to get my [Psychic Katana] Psylocke+

4. Rares are going to be a crap shoot. When the next event comes you will have a good shot of getting more but right now if you don't spend any money you have to try to rely on Rally packs and Ultimate tickets to get some rares. You also get some along the way for collecting the resources 3 times. On average you get 1 3* for the first time you complete a set, an ISO-8 for the 2nd time and the same 3* for the 3rd time you finish the set.

5. Mastery Points are earned in a few ways but the most common is attacking and winning against opponents with a higher level. You can also get random Mastery level gains from doing missions.

the Names in parentheses are to distinguish different kind of Characters. there are different kind of Spidermans i think.

Top levels depend on the amount of stars that character can reach i think.

The + are for fused cards

not sure about that one.

Woke up to alliance and individual rewards from the SHIELD event we took part in. Used my two Ultimate tickets to get a second [Ball of Fire] Human Torch and a second [Shining Cosmo] Silver Surfer. I'm certainly open to trading both of my Surfers if someone wants a great 4* card after maxing out the stats. Just ask DG how great Surfer can be. I'm not opposed to keeping both and doing it myself, but I've already maxed out Iron Fist for the spot that Surfer would fill in my offensive deck, and since I have Blade coming soon as well as Torch to fuse and max out, I simply cant afford to max two surfers, fuse them, then max another surfer.

nepg, since Ive already offered you one surfer for Iron Fist, I think itd make sense to just add the 2nd one to the deal as long as we can find a 2nd card on your end that im interested in. Maybe you'll get one via the ultimate packs. (Id ask for Nova, but the combo w/ Nova is why you want Surfer)

ALSO, after doing some math, based off of all the other cards in the game, if you were to max out two of the 3* Mr Fantastic's that some of you guys just got as a reward, then fuse them together and max the 4* out, it would come out to roughly 6279 ATK and 6480 DEF with the ability to "Notably intensify DEF of your Cards." Pretty nice card.
