You can still have a lot of arm strength while lacking accuracy though.

Cinncy might need to reevaluate the qb position.
Cinci should be more than happy with Dalton. He has 2 playoff appearances in 2 years and Newton is 0-2. Dalton is like 24 years old - no need to give up on him or even think about it.

That's horseshit. The gameplan was fine. Lewis had this team playing at a high level all night long. The OL did a respectable job vs a sick front 7.

If Dalton makes the throws he's supposed to make, you guys come out of this game as winners and everything you said about the coaching would be mute.

This game came down to Dalton missing throws.

Sanchez led his team to back to back AFC Championship games. Isolate the player and evaluate him independent of the team's success.

I don't think you can ever be too comfortable at the QB position if you don't have a top 10 talent there. For example if someone like Tyler Bray is available to them in the third round, would they consider him? They probably wouldn't, but I think they should.

QBs with average or below average arm strength have to be clutch or they have trouble sticking around because of what happens in the playoffs. Then, after a few years that type of QB gets the playoffs and throws six interceptions like Delhomme.

I'm not advocating that they dump him like some else is, but don't make excuses for Dalton. He left multiple TDs on the field because his arm is limp.

Dalton is only in his second season. It's not time to abandon ship. Maybe in two years if he is still holding the team back. Cincinnati has made a lot of progressions in these last two years. A revolving door at your starting quarterback success isn't the way to roll, especially when your starter hasn't been that bad.

So the Giants should have given up on Eli Manning because he struggle early on? Does Carolina Give up on Cam Newton because he has struggle this year and lost games for them? Detroit should draft a new QB in the 1st round because Stafford has struggle as of late right.

Marvin Lewis is not a good coach. He is good at collecting talent, but can get his team ready for big games. He would be better fit as a GM the only reason he has had success lately is because he brought in Zimmer. Once we lose Zimmer the Bengals will go back to underachieving.

As long as the Bengals are picking from 17-24 it's probably a moot point anyway.

It will be very interesting to see how Joe Webb performs in Lambeau. A lot of pressure on the Packers not to get clowned in their own house by a new starter at quarterback that hasn't throw a pass all season.

The Bengals haven't invested nearly as much in him as those other teams have.

Bray is garbage. Dalton's their guy. The offense needs more talent, Marvin Jones and Andrew Hawkins aren't ideal complements for Green. Both Houston and Cincy should be looking for a #2 WR in the draft.

I get what you're saying, but you have to understand, those flaws of all the qbs you named were correctable flaws.

How do you correct a limp arm? You can't! And that's the problem. This is who Dalton will be, you can't fix his limitations. And come playoff time, these flaws will only be highlighted.

I would give Dalton another year, but I strongly feel that if youre ultimate goal is the SB, which it should be, then this guy isn't the answer. He's fools gold.

If Webb can avoid turning the ball over he should be fine. It's not like Ponder is much more than a caretaker anyway.

"Someone like Bray", I basically just meant someone with the potential to be a top 10 QB. I don't think Dalton has that potential.

I'm not saying they should be necessarily be comfortable, but they shouldn't also already be searching for a replacement. He's definitely played at a level deserving of further chances to prove himself. If your young quarterback has generally played decently and shown promise, you don't move on after just two years. Just look at Eli Manning's progression, for instance.

Dalton's arm isn't that bad. I'd take Dalton's arm over Matt Ryan's. His timing needs work. Either too impatient or too late with too many if his throws.

His deep ball accuracy is what the problem is. He can make the throws they are just no accurate.

Just look at Eli Manning's progression, for instance.
He deserves the chance to prove himself, but as I said, I don't think he deserves to have the Bengals feel comfortable with him looking into the future.

Dungy likes the twinkle in Frazier's eye.

Can't wait to see Webb against Mathews. He's a lot of havoc for a backup and that secondary is dangerous.

All I'm saying is, Dalton's ceiling to me is dangerously mediocre. Meaning he's gonna be that guy who's good enough to make you competitive enough to not be in a position to draft a franchise qb, but not good enough to ever take you to the promised land.

Qb purgatory if you will. I just don't see it. Maybe he can prove me wrong one day, but I'm not betting on it.
