If Oregon is Chip Kelly's true home then I don't see him going pro. Otherwise, he will take Browns or Eagles' job. If his first NFL debut era did not work out, he would find new job in SEC.
Simple.

Makes a scary amount of sense.
He was the coordinator of that 2008 Denver offense when Cutler broke out, so he knows the Bears QB and WR. The Bears QB coach was his OA in 2006 and coordinated the passing side of things while Dennison handled the running side in 08.

I support Rick Dennison all the way for Bears for 2 reasons. He will switch ZBS and head coach with offensive background for 3 years means WCO continuity for Jay Cutler.

or he could just want money, fame, and be at the top of his profession like most people, and leave.
Its hard to find people with integrity and are fine being where they are. Though his situation is a little different, since he can still get paid a ton.

I completely forgot about the sanctions Kelly might face if he stays at Oregon...I wonder if this has somehow been resolved or if they are going to be very minor.

Recruiting situation? It never is minor.
edit: http://www.sbnation.com/college-foot...-investigation
Perhaps a minor problem.

Yeah, we'll hear a fair amount of that from folks if he gets hired. The response is going to be "that's ok, the guy who called the plays in Denver is already under contract to help him."

I'm hearing from sources that Oregon Ducks owner Phil Knight is close to signing Chip Kelly to a contract extension.

Oh, no need to differentiate. Have you seen the new basketball facility? And the name on it? It's all Knight baby.

Oh I thought he only owned the football team. So now he does basketball as well. Those are the popular sports.
But if he has a hand in baseball and t&f, then he owns the Ducks.

I don't think even the kids who go to Oregon know whether they have T & F or baseball programs. They don't matter to anyone. He definitely owns that school.

Actually, track is a huge deal at Oregon. Steve Prefontaine was a runner there, and he basically is the idol of most long-distance runners as I understand it. Knight has had his fingers in the track program longer than anything else.

Oregon State winning back-to-back national titles probably had something to do with that.

The baseball team actually made a super regional last year and have arguably the best coach in college baseball. Their baseball team is becoming one of the best in the country and sell out most of the time.

Makes sense, the only time I ever hear about it up here is when our team goes down South and gets the crap kicked out of them in historic fashion.

Arizona is going to interview Jay Gruden: http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com...ew-jay-gruden/
His work with Dalton might entice AZ since they need to draft a young QB early to develop.
