Slap in the face to Cousins who basically won two games this year.

Sounds like a torn ACL, PCL, and MCL for Griffin. Out for all of next year most likely.

Adrian Peterson came back from that. RGIII just might have to stop bouncing balls in front of his receivers and learn to throw from the pocket more quickly than anticipated.

So was that one playoff game worth it? Goes from a sprained knee to a completely shattered one, and you didn't even win. Yep, totally worth it.

AD is a once in a lifetime athlete. Also this is the 2nd tear in Bob's right knee so yeah he's going to have to become a pocket passer now.

Worth what? You're a complete 100% liar if you honestly think given the information we have that RG3 should not have started last night. And obviously no outcome of the game would be worth losing your franchise qb to this kind of injury but this is the NFL. Injuries happen all the time. You can't play in a bubble. Whatever happens here I stand by the fact that you are wearing blinders if you put this on Shanahan and not on the medical staff.

But yeah, let's go ahead and let the kid go out there, we have no responsibility whatsoever to this franchise or to his career. What a slugger, going out there limping around running read options.
I'm gonna love respecting RG3 as he sits on the sidelines for the next year and is never the same player again.

The main argument to be made is you were up 14-0 when it was clear he was hurting. You are no longer handing a ball to Rex Grossman. Cousins has shown he can win games and play well. And you'd be spotting him 14 points.

they *don't* have any responsibility to any part of his career. they have a responsibility to make money for the owner. no player's health trumps that, except insofar as it makes the owner more money. obviously griffin's injury has a higher chance of impacting that than no name player X, but let's not pretend like the organization owes any of its players anything.

I'm not pretending like the organization owes RG3 anything, but anyone would be ignorant to think that RG3 doesn't mean more money for the organization. Even if you put his best interest last on the list, it all rides on HIM, and on HIM being healthy. He makes them money, he makes them successful, he'll help keep the coach employed and the team profitable. He is laying golden eggs for the whole organization and they just took a giant **** on it, for what exactly?

Well here comes the worst case scenario. I said yesterday, I feel bad for a great athlete and player getting injured like this, but as a Cowboy fan if they wanted to keep trotting Griff out there on a bad leg then hey, fire away.

You are so god damn dense. One of Griffin's best assets is his mobility and running ability. It's the biggest reason why that offense was churning at an incredible pace this season, hardly anyone could contain both the run and the pass. They've effectively destroyed that aspect of his game, because now he'll inevitably regress as an athlete, and the offense will be tailored to keeping him healthy.
No where even close to Romo playing with a busted finger or cracked ribs.

I feel really bad for Griffin, honestly and truly. But at least this gives us a year in which we wont have to listen to Jsagan's ridiculous homer bs, unless he tries telling us we should put things into hypothetical contexts in which if Griffin plays he'd have the best season ever and Luck would have the worst season ever.

because the 'your team did it too, once' defense is always a good one.

i don't disagree that it was a poor football and poorer financial decision, just with the idea that (since it's come up at least twice) they have any responsibility towards griffin as a person.

Understood. Im just trying to make a point that plenty of coaches regularly allow their qbs to play through injuries when the medical staff allows it and the player insists on it.
Bottom line, RG3 was diagnosed with a minor sprain of his LCL 3 weeks ago. He was since cleared to play by team doctors. Team doctors also publicly claimed that although he was not fully healed he was not at risk of reinjury. Either he was mis-diagnosed or the medical staff lied. Given Andrews recent "worried" comments, I imagine one of the two is probably true.
In hindsight, of course i wish Cousins had come in, but at the time, given the way the situation played out, I can't put the blame of this fully on Shanny or RG3. Everything to me screams medical staff **** up.
If the rumors are true then this injury was not furthered by the original. This injury was because his foot got stuck in ****** grass on a bad snap, and bent the wrong way. Very well may have had little to do with the original injury in which case the medical staff may have actually been right with their diagnosis. If it was caused from previous injury then again signs point to the med staff.

Can I please see a quote where a Redskins doctor said that this injury could not get any worse by playing on it?

Anything can get worse but I agree that you can't forsee a complete knee explosion as a direct result from playing on a sprained LCL. If this is true, which I still doubt, I tend to think this is completely independent. Or more likely due to playing on a crap field regardless of the original injury or not.
