It's a joke that Bonds, Piazza, Clemens and Biggio aren't in. I'm even pissed that Rose still isn't in.

Leaving everything up to writers, as well as the high percentage required to make the hall of fame was going to lead to things like this. I think HOF managers should also have a say, even if some of their own guys get in. At least letting some people who actually participated in the sport for a living would give a little more credibility. There will be an obvious bias if writers decide everything. If Biggio played for the Yankees, he would have easily made it this year.

Were there voters who submitted empty ballots in protest?

Sorry to change the subject, but Jonathan Singleton has been suspended 50 games for smoking pot.

They shouldn't be allowed to vote again.

That's it? They should ban him for life for bringing that poison into the sport.

The only association Piazza has with steroids is backne. GTFO with that.

What do you think of Adam Rubin? He voted for Bagwell but not Piazza. Doesn't make much sense to me.

Why are there STILL insane penalties for smoking pot in sports? Jesus Christ Selig, it's 2012.

Really??? If you didn't vote for the guys you thought were roiders, you should have had Biggio on your ballot. If you voted for the guys people think are roiders, you should have had Biggio on your ballot.
WTF is this **** where Craig Biggio doesn't get in the HoF? His career isn't about the numbers, but he even has those!
None of these guys are getting in next year because the HoF is going to make it about Maddux & Glavine and only vote those two in.
Also, it's criminal that Jack Morris keeps getting the shaft. Dude won 3 WS in a row with two different teams, and probably would have won 4 if not for the strike in 1994. His entire career wasn't that great, numbers-wise, but his post-season performances were just incredible. And the 10-inning SHO in G7 against the Braves? One of the least-appreciated performances in sports today.

If it weren't a crime there wouldn't be penalties

Oh man, how much wrong there is with this. Let's start...
-Jack Morris is not deserving
-He won three world series in a row, however he was so awful in the '92 postseason that he wasn't even on the playoff roster in '93
-His postseason numbers are pretty much identical to his regular season numbers, in that they're nowhere close to hall worthy
-One game should not put a player in the Hall, otherwise Don Larsen would make it

He wasn't left of the playoff roster because of the previous post-season, he was just awful in 1993. lol.
And the guy's best years were wasted on a team that went to the playoffs twice. 1984 was a masterpiece performance by Jack along with 1991.

So two good postseasons and one awful one is a good case, then? Schilling was a better postseason pitcher.

Rubin is the best beat writer for the Mets by far but yeah he screwed this up also. He's really the only guy I follow for Mets news as he's on top of everything.

Morris is not a HOF. Next year Maddux, Glavine, and Frank Thomas should get in. Are they going to keep him out also because because he played in this era? The can of worms they opened now is going to mess things up big time.
