Can any Texans fans give a run down of Rick Dennison?
He's interviewing Friday for Chicago. Obviously that offense has a lot of Kubiak in it but Kubiak has gone to bat for him saying he's absolutely ready for a HC gig. He sounds like the most promising candidate on our humungous list since he's been calling plays for more than one year. And for a damn good offense at that.
He knows the Shanahan offense, but Dennison's never called plays. Kubiak calls them in Houston. When Dennison was OC in Denver, Bates called them.
He does know the offense, he runs Houston's offensive practices, and he's a zone blocking guy who spent the longest portion of his coaching career coaching O line.
Cutler seems to like him. I'm developing a man crush on him. I see the not calling plays thing to be a bonus. He can install the same offense Cutler had in Denver, but leave the playcalling to Bates and focus on coaching the entire team when game time comes.
Being reported that the Eagles have interviewed ND coach Brian Kelly. He is currently out of the country but they are expected to revisit talks.

I think his philosophy football wise would work. Hes proven he can turn programs around, but he reminds me of Coughlan a little in the sense that hes a hard ass so I'm curious to how players would respond to him.
Edit: hes a good coach so I would like seein him in Philly, and at the same time I get to see ND go ape ****.

Eagles young team needs hardass but know when to turn it off.

I see you. I can agree with that for sure, Andy should have been harder on those guys.

Panthers fans can correct me on this if I'm wrong, but my impression was that Chud tried to scale back the option aspects of the offense to protect Cam, and toward the end of the season added them back in (which is consequently when he started playing well again).
Chud ran the option way too much the first half of the year (especially the read option), to the point it was the basis of the teams ground game. The offense improved the second half of the season as he ran it less and went to a more traditional running game with the option aspects mixed in occasionally. The second half of the year, he also used Tolbert more how he was used in San Diego.
Sounds like Doug Pederson is going to be the OC for the Chiefs. Apparently he is highly respected in league circles? All I know is he was the QB coach for the Eagles.

He held Brett Favre's clipboard for much of his career and made sure that his Miller Lights were cold.
Seems like Lovie Smith hasn't gotten that much interest yet...little surprised. Wonder if he'll take a DC role.
I doubt it. He didn't deserve to get fire, let alone get demoted to being a DC somewhere. If I had to guess he will sit out a year.

Psh....Jerry Angelo was a fine GM. To build a team that's been successful as ours has been in the last ten years? The Jets wish they had that.
They're skipping that important step where they let Dick Jauron draft them a Charles Tillman, Lance Briggs, Alex Brown. Brian Urlacher, & Mike Brown before turning personnel control over to Jerry.

Someone should warn them.
.......jesus Monomach.
Angelo drafted Tillman, Briggs, and Alex Brown. He took over a team that had three good players (Urlacher, M. Brown, Kruetz) and built them into a consistent winner.
Not surprising. There was a rumor that one current head coach tried to secure his release last week to interview with the Bears, and my guess was Mularkey. I obviously don't want him for that job, but it made sense.
Why wouldn't they just fire him straight away? Wasn't he doing interviews saying how he was glad he got given another year and talking about how much he loves coaching, lol. That's just embarrassing now.
They have the linebackers for it though. They need another pass rusher though.
Not sure how our secondary fits either. Our safeties suck to begin with, but the Tampa 2 put even more stress on them... And we just spend big last offseason on press man corners, kind of takes away what they're good at... But I guess you can still press at the line.

Carr and Clairborne can adjust. Carr ran a lot of Tampa in KC, and Clairborne was known more for being an off the ball defender coming out of college.
Sensy will be fine. The SS in a Tampa 2 needs to be more of a run support guy anyway. And your coverage in the middle of the field will be more on your linebackers.
But you'll need a FS and a DE. Those are 2 big needs.
