IF we believe Te'o (and I do not), we should not forget that Te'o took 3 weeks to tell ND. He sat on it from 12/6 until 12/26. Any "extra credit" he gets for telling the school is pretty much null and void in my eyes for spending all of that time lying before even letting Notre Dame start defend itself from the impending media backlash.

Let us remember that on two occasions following the date he claims he learned it was hoax, he VOLUNTARILY brought her up to the media. He was not replying to questions about her; he was beating that "feel sorry for me, I'm awesome" drum on his own.
