Don't know if anyone watched ESPN, but Te'o claims he wasn't 100% sure she didn't exist/was hoaxed until Tuiasasopo called him 2 days ago and apologized. It's on SportsCenter now.
It's just really hard for me to believe, that in his day and age with Facetime, Skype, or whatever...that Manti didn't ever see this girl beyond the photos and maintained a "relationship" with her for over two years. To care that much about someone for over two years. It's just too fantastic of a scenario to have something have gone on for this long and for Te'o never to have taken the initiative to meet this girl once...not while she was in the hospital, at her funeral, get in touch with her family, etc. It just doesn't make sense and it really requires a ridiculous suspension of disbelief to go along with it. Two to three years is a long time to be that invested in someone. And for the person or persons concocting the hoax...it would just seem too much of a bother to keep it going for so long without something to gain. What guy and their female friend are going to sit around every other day entertaining Te'o's phone calls talking for hours and hours?

On SportsCenter, Jeremy Schaap said that Te'o said the relationship really only got serious from the "car accident" and on. Then some stuff about Scripture study or something. Schaap was super convinced based on text messages, Twitter, and what not. In the link of my original it sounded like "Skyped' but where she didn't have a camera.
Still seems a bit silly.

Wait. Didn't Notre Dame know on December 26th? And they told Te'o how to handle questions? And he STILL didn't believe them until two days ago?!?!?!?!?!!?!?
And Jeremy Schaap looked so damn uncomfortable retelling that interview. I felt bad for him.

I'm not 100% sure that physical objects exist, but I certainly have no difficulty acting as though they do on the basis of significant evidence.
How confident do you have to be that someone does not actually exist before you start acting as though they, in fact, do not exist? It has to be significantly less than 100%.

IDK, Schaap hinted at a longer full detailed article on the interview. It will hopefully shed more light then his stuttering re-telling. I also hope they release the straight audio.

Schaap definitely had the look of someone who knew he was lied to at great length, but couldn't say anything about his suppositions as Te'o's lawyer was in the room.
Heck, the very fact that Te'o brought his lawyer makes this whole thing suspect. If you really want to clear the air, you don't need your lawyer.

Wait, what? Schaap was on TV without any lawyer. Stated that Te'o answered every question immediately without nervous tendencies. He said he believed Te'o's answers. He owes nothing to Te'o and could easily say, I didn't believe a word out of his mouth.

Why does it seem the media (ESPN) won't ask the tough questions?
Question...
Are cellular phones allowed to be used in Intensive Care Units? He never, I mean not ONE SINGLE TIME had to call an actual hospital to be connected with his dying girlfriend?
"Visiting hours are over. All family must leave the room. She needs to be allowed to breathe heavily into this cell phone for the next 8 hours."
Ok so if this was just a prank by the arizona card's FB he let it last for 3 years? WTF? It does not make sense. I think he is getting a large sack of hush money from a rich alum.

The Arizona Cardinals FB had nothing to do with the story other than saying he actually met the imaginary girlfriend. Meaning he was also duped by Tuiasosopa, allegedly.

My grandmother was recently hospitalized and she was able to use her cell phone to make calls or text messages whenever she wanted. Being the closest relative geographically, I was the primary point of contact and I never had to call the actual hospital. "Visiting hours" seem to have to do with the staff not wanting to deal with visitors.
Of course, the difference is, my grandmother is a real person. I certainly had to talk to the hospital (and her, in person) when I went to visit her. Not visiting your dying girlfriend is the thing that makes me think he was in on this. Seriously, he never visited or even tried to send her flowers or some other gift as a surprise?

I'm sure her cell phone was a prescribed radiation treatment method.
