Meh, I don't know. A lot of the national media thought the Patriots and Giants were locks for the Super Bowl last season leading up to the championship game.

The 49ers & Patriots are not doubt the better teams in their match ups, but I don't view either as untouchable. Sometimes the NFL just disregards logic.

Although I'm a Patriot fan I have no idea how we can be nine point favorites. Games with the Ravens are always close, they're practically divisional rivals.

My guess, he's not a good fit for what the Defence is doing this year. Smith seems to be more of a big physical, jam at the line CB. You watch the Ravens this year and they play more off and mix up zone and man.

I don't think New England and San Francisco are necessarily better teams actually. I'm just saying that the media is going to, like always, take the "safe pick". Folks trusted Aaron Rodgers more so than Colin Kaepernick and they just won the Super Bowl a couple of years back, so they're going to pick them on the road. Denver had won 11 straight and Peyton Manning is on the team, so they'll take that team. People don't like being wrong. Or rather, I guess they're just making educated guesses. And that's fine. Anyone saying San Francisco and/or New England is going to blow out the other competition is just ******** though.

If you had told me one of the games had a 10 point differential, I would have put all of my money on it being the SF vs Atlanta game.
There is no way the Patriots (at home) should be more than a 3-4 point favorites.
The only thing going against SF this weekend is they are playing in Atlanta.

I actually think Atlanta has a good chance to win, unfortunately. If the 9ers d doesn't step up and get to Ryan better than they did Rodgers, Julio n co will go nuts. The Falcons pass rush sucks, but at least their linebackers are better than GBs and maybe they'll be able to actually tackle. Really hope they lose though.

Kaepernick is going to come down to Earth a little bit, at least, facing a team
who doesn't have a bunch of p*ssies on defense and don't just open up lanes for him to run 180 yards without ever taking a hard hit.
Atlanta has obviously had some trouble with Cam Newton, but at least they have some experience facing the running QB.
Green Bay really didn't, and no Joe Webb is not remotely close to the same class as Kaepernick is.
I still like the Niners this week, but it will be much closer than most think, and I would not be surprised at all if Atlanta won.
The Ravens had the Patriots beaten last year as we all know. This game should be close again, and I am starting to see the Jerome Bettis thing here for the Ravens. Remember the Steelers surprising everyone and winning that Super Bowl for Jerome? That was Cowher's first & only Super Bowl win. He was not that brilliant coach until they got that ring that year against the odds.
Let's go Ravens!
Flacco can outplay Brady again no?

I want to see Atlanta represent the NFC in the Superbowl. That way, ever since the NFL broke out into the 8 Divisions, the NFC South will be the only division to have all 4 teams represent the Super Bowl in the past 10 years.

Anyone know of a website that I could get individual play statistics?
Like one that tells me the pass was for 40 yards, 10 in the air, 30 after the catch, 15 after first contact, with 12:38 left in the 2nd quarter on the near 32
Or anything like that? I want to do some stats modeling, but... without a decent data set, I can't. :/

Does anyone know the actual kickoff times? Like MNF starts at 8:30 but they don't kick off until 8:40. 1 PM games actually kick off at like 1:04 or something like that.
Just curious.

I'm taking Atlanta. People are overrating what the 49ers did against the Packers. Atlanta plays more zone, and Kaepernick won't be able to just run at will like he did last week. I think he's going to have a hard time throwing against Mike Nolan's defense, too.
