And the Niners have to beat the Packers, who I think are going to be tough to beat with a first year QB.

Say what you want about situations but Matt Ryan, Stafford, Freeman, and Bradford are all still yet to win a single playoff game in their careers while Flacco just won his 6th playoff game today.

Give those other QB's Ray Rice, the Raven's defense, coaching stability, and they'd probably have a couple playoff wins also.

That is true.
But also remember this: Mark Sanchez beat Tom Brady in the playoffs, and went to 2 AFC Championship games.
Seems like a lifetime ago doesn't it?

Joe Flacco is a franchise qb. He performs in the playoffs. Top 10 qb. Still don't get the bashing on him.

I will say he does play some of his best football in the playoffs. Can't diss him for that.

I think many forget he's a lee Evans drop away from taking Baltimore to the Super Bowl last year as well. Baltimore will and should give him what he's worth. Definately top 10 qb money.

Flacco's worse than average. Cut and replace with Derek Anderson or Rex Grossman immediately plz.

Are other fans starting to believe Racens fans when we talked about how bad cam Cameron was and he was holding Flacco back.

I think I've finally figured out what Flacco is - Eli Manning.
He'll rarely put up sexy stats in the regular season, but in the playoffs, the guy is just plain dependable. If it wasn't for terrible drops, Flacco should have at least 2 SB appearances by now. (Evans last year, and Q and Housh the previous year).

no, Flacco's got a great arm and so he can do great things, but he's inconsistent because his accuracy's inconsistent and his decision making is inconsistent. Eli has been inconsistent because he works in a more complex offense that has a much smaller margin of error, so for him to beast a lot more needs to be going right. Plus despite Eli's inconsistency's he's still outperforming Flacco, for peak performance and totals. Eli's also got a lot more of his team's success on his shoulders as he hasn't had a running game even on par with Flacco's in like 4 years, and the giants D hasn't been as strong as Baltimore's over the same time line.
The story's are similar, as the Ravens and Giants both play up and down to their opposition like crazy, but ultimately the specifics are different and that's why Eli has two superbowl MVPs and Flacco's still trying to get his first appearance. He's similar to Eli and Ben, but just not as good yet. That said if Flacco can keep this going and get the Ravens a superbowl ring he'll start getting a lot closer.

Flacco's the real deal.
You stat nerds and fantasy football hobbits don't get it. Because Flacco is old school. He'll be the first of this "young" group to get a ring, but the nerds and hobbits still don't get it.

We came so close to having Flacco vs Ryan too..... 17-0 lead Falcons.
WTF.

Gotta give Flacco his due. The man makes plays in the playoffs. He isn't elite but the man is a franchise qb, and that's all you ask for.

He's elite when it matters, should have brought his team to the super bowl last year too if it weren't for Lee Evans drop.

I won't argue that. He's been money in the playoffs. He's not elite, I think elite is strictly for top 5 guys, but he's surely a franchise guy now. I think we can say that now.
I was skeptical, but I have to admit, I've seen a lot of growth from Flacco.
And I do have to wonder how much of that is because Cam Cameron is no longer the coordinator.

Yeah that's pretty much the same way I feel about Flacco. My elite class is Brady, Manning, Brees, and Rodgers (in no particular order) and he's definitely not on that level but I'm comfortable with Flacco as the QB of the Ravens. It's nice seeing him flourish without Cameron calling the plays and I think that is a big part of it.

What the hell?
Stat nerds ARE the ones that like Flacco. It's the "old school" mouthbreathers that count super bowl rings as an individual player statistic that hate on him.

Then Lee Evans and Rahim Moore cancel each other out.

Flacco has been playing great but he isn't close to elite. I peg on 3 QBs as elite right now.
That Rahim Moore play was awful, but Flacco also had to overcome 2 return TDs as well.

And thus goes the notion that you need an Elite QB to win the Super Bowl. Does that mean we should re-evaluate Eli?

Flacco is the 2nd QB to beat Brady and Peyton in the same postseason.
The first?
