When Talib went down that changed the defensive gameplan a bit.
They had to run a lot more Cover 2 and Flacco was hitting the underneath routes and developed a rhythm. The gameplan with Talib was overload blitzes and force them to throw to the hot.
They still did this after Talib went down and their cover 2 was getting picked apart, but without Talib defending the hot, Flacco cooked the blitz. His passer rating was 118 vs the blitz. Talib going down dramatically impacted that game.
And on the other side, Baltimore was very successful blitzing Brady. Brady was not accurate down the field all game. Baltimore did a great job defending Brady.
Baltimore deserves the win, it was a great win for them. But Talib going down definitely changed the game.

Also let's give Baltimore's secondary some credit. They've been phenomenal lately.
Carey Williams has really stepped it up.

I've been more and more critical of BB lately but have been keeping that in-house. Patriot Way, and all.

I am more critical of him in the offseason. Still haven't got over not going after Clay Mattews and year after year they can't bring in that #1 wide receiver.
They should put Tom Brady in the HOF just based on what he has to work with. There is just so much you can get out of the Woodheads and Welkers of the world.

When playing for the Bucs, Talib always pull his hammy on non-contact play late in the season. Every. Single. Time. It was bound to happen for the Patriots.

It's funny my bro said the same thing. When the games on the line leave it up to Talib to hurt himself or give up a 40 yard bomb

Catching some of the replay. Vanek is such a boss. I wonder how long he can keep this up. Really working hard, even having some flashes of good skating. No fooling.

This is somehow your fault.
The Sabres coming back was the best part of the weekend, anyway.

That. So much that.
He makes up for his bad defensive backs by putting the pressure on with his offense.
Two field goals and a touchdown in the redzone? lol. Plus multiple punts from within the Baltimore side of the field... That was not much like Belichick.

The NFL should ******* fine Brady for that kick to Ed Reed. If you are going to fine Suh for a kick where his back to the player you need to fine Brady. I like Brady but I just find it ******** how Suh is treated compared to the rest of the league.

Brady was jut doing it to protect himself. He didn't want Reed to fall on him and tackle him and so he put his leg up to push him away. Suh's only intention was to hurt Matt Schaub. It's completely different.

If that play is a little off Brady's foot goes right through Reed's knee. He had no business sticking his leg up like that. Reed wasn't going to fall and tackle a sliding QB. Its a cheap move by Brady. Not sure if its worth a fine but it was not a normal slide and goes beyond just protecting himself.

I'm not saying it was okay, but don't make it out like it was as bad as Suh's and that Suh get's treated unfairly. And did Suh even get fined/suspended for the Schaub kick?

Not really close to Suh I agree. Suh is a dirty player, Brady just made a cheap move there but he probably would do it again. Suh got a $30,000 fine for the kick but no suspension.
Also, Boldin time:

That's such a punk move by Brady.

Another thing is that the bad guy role hasn't been forced on Suh, the only reason people treat him like a piece of **** is because he acts like a piece of ****.

Well then yeah, a fine for Brady would be harsh considering Suh only got a $30,000 fine.

I definitely thought it was a bit bush league when I saw it. Maybe it wasn't intentional, but I certainly don't think athletes slide that poorly, especially one that was a very good baseball player at one point...

Too much win here.
Welker's wife, Anna Burns Welker, used social-media site Facebook to take a few shots at Baltimore Ravens linebacker Ray Lewis on Sunday night after the Patriots' 28-13 loss to the Ravens in the AFC Championship Game.
Quote:
|
"Proud of my husband and the Pats. By the way, if anyone is bored, please go to Ray Lewis' Wikipedia page. 6 kids 4 wives. Acquitted for murder. Paid a family off. Yay. What a hall of fame player! A true role model!"
|
This is good but nowhere near as good as the press conference with Welker right after Rex tripping over everyone's feet...
