Branden Albert appeared on The Danny Parkins Show on 610 Sports today and was asked if he wanted to stay in KC.
“Of course,” Albert said. “I’ve been here five years, I was drafted by the Chiefs. My home is there, been living there, and Chiefs fans for the most part have been kind to me. I want to be a Chief.”
“I’ve worked hard to be a left tackle in this league, said Alert. “I’ve worked hard on my craft. from where I started to where I’m at now is a hell of a jump. I’m not a guard. Point blank.”

He's not a guard bitches.

Apparently Woody Johnson wants the Jets to explore Darrell Revis trades.
http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com...e-revis-trade/
Even with the injury and contract status I'd have to think there would be a good bit of interest in him

Packers should trade Tramon Williams, cut Charles Woodson and then trade for Revis.

Woody Johnson is hilarious. Yes, let's trade the best CB since Deion Sanders in a passing league era.
That sounds like a wonderful idea.

If he really is for sale, I'd hope the Giants jump all over that.

You just hired a new GM, one who is supposedly an expert in cap management (That was Tannenbaum's forte too, if I recall), and you have no confidence that you can sign your best player?
Okay then.

They probably think they can be a productive pass defense without him. And to be fair, they can be. They had a very good pass defense even without him bc Cromartie is a beast.
Cro is arguably top 5 in the league.
So the allocation of resources doesn't make sense in a way for them to commit so much money to the CB position.
But it's still dumb. They're overthinking it. This is Darrelle Revis. If his knee heals up, this dude has first ballot HOF written all over him. The best CB since Deion.
You don't trade away that kind of talent.

They're entering the offseason already 25 mil over the cap. Their starting LG and TE are about to leave, too. They're paying out the nose at the QB position but still don't have a starter. It's rebuilding time. The team will disagree, the fans will disagree...but it needs to be done.

There's other ways to get under the cap. They're gonna suck next year bc Sanchez is their qb. So next year is a throw away year regardless of what moves they make.
So you don't re-sign some of your FAs who walk, you move on from Sanchez next year, and you rebuild.
They have this draft, and next draft to rebuild. The defense is almost there. 2 good drafts and they'll be right back in the swing of things.
You don't move a talent like Revis. You'll get 2 cents on the dollar with any trade you make.

Revis has already shown he wants money and is willing to hold out for it and the team just can't afford to give him a pay raise right after what he got already.
If you can get a great package of picks, why the hell not?
Revis is a great player but he's been shady before with contract negotiations and at this point, the Jets need quantity over quality. Revis should not be given away but if someone throws us a 1st, and some other picks I don't see why not.
Jared Allen went for a 1st and 2 3rd round picks and its arguable despite the torn ACL that Revis is better at his position than Allen. I'd demand that in a deal and if we get something like that...you have to green light the deal.

Also Revis WILL bolt to the highest bidder and probably won't give us a discount, especially if we are coming off a bad season.
Get Pittsburgh or Tampa Bay or Detroit on the line as I think all 3 would have interest and if someone wows us, alright then.

Sure, there are ways to get under the cap. The easiest way of doing it would be to release Bart Scott, Calvin Pace, Jason Smith, and Eric Smith...all guys who make more than they're worth.
Of course, that means they'll be just $5 mil under the cap with a mere 10 starters returning...and one of those is still Mark Sanchez. Most of this year's backups would be starting and practice squad guys would be backups.
I don't think there's anything they can do to be even decent. They're going to suck, and Revis is going to take the money and run to get away from the mess after the season.
This is why no one wanted that GM job.

Something more of the lines of
5th overall
Titus Young
2013 2nd round pick
2014 3rd round pick
for
Revis
2013 5th round pick
Is reasonable.
We can compete this year btw but we really gotta trade DOWN once if not twice this upcoming draft. Sanchez AND Holmes can be let go after next year and Harris can be let go the year after that and we will have money to play around with.

Titus Young would be perfect for the Jets. Please take that trade.

To me, I think the Jets would be better off giving Revis a creative contract than moving him for what they're going to get right now. If they do trade him I'd take the gamble that he's going to come back looking okay and trade him after that so they can get a little better value on him.
I get not wanting to have a ton of money tied up into the CB position, but if you're going to move a corner then move Cro. He's coming off a career season and much more reliant on his athleticism than Revis. I could see Revis maintaining his level of play for a while, whereas once Cro loses a step I think he'll fall off significantly. I think they're better off striking while the iron is hot there. Cro's a legit #1 corner and locked into a pretty reasonable deal.
I can see the logic behind moving him too, I just don't think they're going to get nearly as good a return as they should if they do it now.

The Jets must be crazy. Revis is 27 years old, and at this point a first time ACL injury is just like a lengthy high ankle sprain. Champ Bailey is 34 years old right now, with a technician at CB like Revis he has a ton of years left. I'd easily give up a 1st if I had the cap space without blinking. If they weren't in the same division Bill Bellicheck jumps on these type of deals while everyone else sits on their ass.
If Woody is serious somebody needs to make it happen.

I feel bad for Jets fans. The Jets have become the 2000-20010 NY Knicks of the NBA.
