How so? Delgado has proved nothing and I would rather have Skaggs in the rotation. Upton is light years better than Ross and much more valuable. Prado has never played more than 43 games in a season at 3B so you have no idea how that will work out, plus the D'Backs are gonna end up overpaying him with at least a $10-12 mil. per contract. Not to mention Matt Davidson is in the system and just got cockblocked. Look at Towers' trades this way:

Given up: Justin Upton, Trevor Bauer, Jarrod Parker

Received: Martin Prado, Trevor Cahill, Didi "the next Derek Jeter" Gregorious, and Randall Delgado

please provide a rationale for these trades. i can't wait to hear it.

Upton, Upton, Heyward. So sexy. I do wish the Braves could have pawned off a couple better prospects to keep Prado, as 3B is a huge hole, but this was a great trade.

My best guess now is they back off on putting BJ in the middle of the lineup.

The Braves would still have the arms to get it done, but at what point is it time to stop purging pitching depth? If Beachy looks to be healing properly and Teheran looks good, it might not be terrible to part with Gilmartin and some other prospects, but most of the pitching depth left in the system is still pretty far away from contributing.

Career .341 wOBA though. He's a good hitter and Fenikz is probably slightly right the deal is not the worst thing ever. It's pretty bad though.

I'd say the deal is more a steal for the Braves than it is a disaster for the Diamondbacks, if that makes sense.

This statement really bothers me, and it shows you haven't seen much of Prado at 3B. I swear you guys grill me all you want, but Martin Prado plays the position as good as anyone in the league, he's just simply amazing at the hot corner. Super underrated.

Justin Upton's value imo is not much higher than Prado's, if at all. The only issue with Prado is that his contract is expiring and he's due for a major raise. Prado has played 1B, 2B, SS, 3B, and LF for the Braves, and he did an amazing job at all positions. I'm gonna miss watching him play.

upton's value is incredibly higher than prado's and it's not even close to be honest. upton is a young, cost-controlled player that can be a perennial mvp candidate while prado is an above average/great utilityman who is a good contact hitter that's going to get overpaid on his next contract. i understand he was a likeable player, but that shouldn't cloud your judgment. and i watched a ton of braves games because they're the only team that comes on the local channels here.

I bet the DBacks wish he didn't have that NTC. Seattle's offer was significantly better IMO.
