You may see it that way, and that is fine. Here's the issue. Even if you see Richardson playing the 5-technique, the Saints already have two players to fulfill that role. Akiem Hicks and Cameron Jordan are both 5-techs so Richardson would be a case of the rich getting richer while ignoring the opportunity to add a dynamic pass-rushing OLB like Mingo. I agree. The post said he wouldn't work in the Saints new 3-4. That's not the same as not being needed.
