But, in his defense, no deer were killed in the making of this product. I'm told they're all very well paid for their willing donation of antler extract.

Oh, come on! People are murdered every day. Performance Enhancing Drugs in professional athletics, on the other hand, is a pretty serious deal. To think, these role models are using arbitrarily banned substances to recover from injuries faster! This is something that should probably go before Congress.

Makes sense to me. Congress is, after all, the last bastion of all that is right and just.

http://thesportdigest.com/2011/02/do...-deer-antlers/
"So how many nanograms are in each dose of dear antler velvet? The same leading manufacturer who made all the claims above indicates “Each bottle of Royal Velvet does contain between 3,000 and 5,000 nanograms of IGF-1 from antler velvet.”
A bottle contains around 180 sprays, and a typical dose is three sprays. Thus, a single dose of deer antler velvet contains between 50 and 84 nanograms of IGF-1. In order to mimic the research study that found IGF-1 to have similar benefits to growth hormone you would need to consume between 1,500,000 to 906,000 sprays PER DAY: that’s between 8,333 to 5,033 bottles per day."

Ruh oh. And video evidence is pretty damning. To be honest, it isn't surprising. Did anyone seriously think that Ray Lewis miraculously just recovered from torn triceps in 1/4th the time bc "he's Ray Lewis"?
Welcome to the dirty side of the NFL. I'm of the belief that tons of NFL players are using banned substances so personally don't give a crap, but it will effect his reputation that's already questionable for sure.

Now this accusation lends credence to his naysayers who think he's a phony.

Deer antler spray is as fraudulent as power balance bands. It is completely placebo and will not enhance your performance/recovery at all. Yes it does contain IGF, however it will not do anything for you orally as that is how deer antler spray is taken. It would have to be done intravenously.

It is on NFL.com as well.
And Harbaugh pulls out the rock solid "passed every substance test in his career" line in the NFL.com article.... now where have we heard that before.

I love this. So much. Mostly just because the Ravens fans I know will hate it. Not an actual big deal because of how wide spread it is, but it'll be fun to torment them with this week. With any luck I won't have to hear as much Superbowl talk in return. Yes im jealous.

In related news, "Sports With Alternatives To Steroids (S.W.A.T.S.) co-owner Mitch Ross included Giants P Steve Weatherford as one of his clients."
I have no difficulty believing this.

My teammate and I messed around with one of these sprays last year when you could still get it on bodybuilding.com and it really didnt do ****. Now, Ray Lewis' money may give him access to better stuff, but yeah...I didn't notice anything.

If he used PEDs, his career will be tainted and probably will effect his HOF chances.
Half of professionbal athletes today have been using or have used PEDs. They're are newer things on the market every day that make testing difficult to pick up in that time period. It's just bad luck when these guys get caught.

he came back from a torn tricep in 2 months.
it usually takes about six months and thats still a pretty fast recovery.
seriously, is there really any doubt that he used SOMETHING? nah of course not, he just worked really hard. haha give me a freaking break

Let's not forget that Justin Smith is still playing out there too with a torn tricep (partial tear but still it's torn, and it WILL require surgery).
http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap100...he-wont-retire
Isn't Smith the ONLY guy who was a week-1 starter on the 49er defense who is injured? No defensive starters on IR?
And one guy playing with a torn tricep.
I think their medical guys are the MVPs.
