Great game, what a great run and swan song for Ray Lewis!
Knocked off Peyton Manning & Tom Brady, the 2 GOAT QB's of today?
Knocked Andrew Luck, and Colin Kaepernick, the 2 Superstar Young Guns....
Doesn't get any better than that.
Well, unless you got a chance to take out Roethlisberger in the playoffs too I reckon.
CONGRATS & enjoy.

Congrats guys!!! Fun fact of the day: Courtney Upshaw won a BCS title & Super Bowl back to back in the same stadium. Glad he landed in such a proud organization.

Congrats guys, I'm so glad you beat the Niners. SF fans are unbearable and it would have been so much worse if they had won.

I was really young and barely remember anything from when we won Super Bowl XXXV so this was my 1st time living the Super Bowl experience with my team representing and man I was surprised to see myself shedding a few tears in joy!
Anyone else going to the victory parade at City Hall tomorrow? 1030am

Just finished watching the game again, and I still canīt believe the defense was able to make that final stand on 4 straight plays inside the 5 yd line. But they frickin did it!!! This playoff run have been such an amazing rollercoaster ride, and I couldnīt be more proud of the team!

This was actually one of the coolest things I've ever seen. To have the defense, on Ray's last ride, pull a fourth down stop on the goal line...Just amazing.

Whatever Joe does with his contract, I just hope there's enough left to sign Ed.

So I have to admit that I was rooting against you guys. But after the dust has settled, I have to congratulate you guys. You did earn it the hard way. It is cool to see a team win with defense in a league where everyone has to throw for 4,000 yards.

Ellerbe and Kruger though have to be first priority. Wonder if Cary can be retained too since so much money is tied up to Webb, something tells me Cary takes the most money wherever he can and runs. I think at all costs you have to keep Flacco, Kruger, and Ellerbe, and with what's left do everything to keep Ed because of what he means to the team but don't chase if he's stretching your pockets, Cary and Mckinnie can come back at reasonable prices, and would be nice to extend Pitta or Arthur before their value really has potential to go up.

I'm really not expecting Cary or Kruger to be brought back. In the last two drafts we've set ourselves up for our future without them with Jimmy and Upshaw. Remember Cary is even more expandable because of the emergence Graham. Cary turned down 5 mil a year last season so I doubt he takes less. Someone will probably overpay for him in the open market. Upshaw won't replace Kruger's pass rush impact but he'll essentially be the new JJ which is fine. This is actually a strong FA and draft class for pass rushers which may lower Kruger's number but I'd expect that he will be able to get more on the open market. coordinator0 and myself have both be advocating drafting a pass rusher high for this reason. Allows someone to rotate in as a situational guy behind Upshaw will being groomed at Sizzle's RUSH spot (******* Kindle...). I still think Ed is a very important part of what we do. He's still playing at a very high level though I'm not sure how much safeties are going for these days pricewise. Love what Pollard has brought to the table but table but we need that rangy centerfielder over the top to complement him and allow him to play in the box. And although this is a deep safety class, it's lacking in centerfield types. I'm hoping that we are able to maybe restructure a few things to make room for him. Of those four, Ellerbe is probably actually the top priority despite being the cheapest. Ray's gone and McClain is coming off that back/neck injury. Should be a no brainer. Can't see him being too pricey. Obviously drafting another ILB to have in the mix is certainly a possibility.

I don't know if the win has really sunk in yet. Just seems so surreal with Lewis riding into the sunset after winning the championship. I wouldn't be surprised to see Reed follow him.
In fact there's a lot of older veterans that could be gone next season. I posted this on another forum but there's a real chance the seven oldest players on the team won't be back next season. Ray Lewis (37), Bobbie Williams (36), Matt Birk (36), Ed Reed (34), Ma'ake Kemoeatu (33), Bryant McKinnie (33), and Chris Johnson (33). You might be able to stretch that into the top ten guys with Anquan Boldin (32), Brendan Ayanbadejo (32), and Vonta Leach (31). I don't expect all of them to be gone but quite a few of them could be due to various reasons.

I find it difficult to interpret Ed Reed, but if we look past him, I could see a lot of the older players being let go or "forced" into retirement. Kemoeatyou wasn't all that impressive and we have a bunch of young lions who could fill in for him. Bobbie Williams I see very little reason to retain and Birk could likely be a guy who decides to retire rather than being forced into a role as a backup.
Boldin should have his contract restructured, but he still has a place in the league, which he proved in the playoffs, while Chris Johnson provides some veteran depth for a young secondary. McKinnie could be a stop gap guy, but I don't like him that much because of his motivation issues. Leach and Ayanbadejo could be either kept or let go depending on contracts. Both are quality players, leaders which could be wise to retain if we lose both Lewis, Birk and Reed. On the other hand they don't have much potential or speed, and if there is something we could use more of, it is speed.
For this offseason, I really hope we get some speed both at LT to handle speed rushers, and some speed at ILB and OLB and a safety project as well (this draft is deeeep).
