I was so wrong about Flacco. He destroys everyone in history at going deep. Ravens don't sniff the Super Bowl without him. He deserves whatever they give him.

With that win, it's almost a guarantee he gets a $100 million contract. Maybe 6 years, $102 million with $30 million guaranteed. If I had to, I'd pay him even more. There is no way they can let him walk because Tyrod Taylor-Alex Smith-Matt Flynn isn't getting you to the Super Bowl.

He'll be the highest paid QB in the game.
Heard on TV (or radio) that the Ravens are ready to release Q and possibly J.Jones in order to free up enough cap space to do so.

If so... I want JJ in NE!

At this point I think extensions with restructures for next year are more likely. That would almost be just as good as cutting them in terms of saving money against the cap. They're going to have enough holes to cover this off-season so opening up another one wouldn't be a good idea.

Pay the man his money. He proved a lot of people wrong and played at the highest level in the playoffs. I hope this playoffs is him turning the corner.

His next two years are a minimum of 44 million dollars (double franchise tag). I would expect to see guaranteed dollars in excess of 70 million with that in mind.

Flacco would be smart to take a slightly discounted deal as he does not have the skills to carry a barren football team like a Peyton Manning or a Tom Brady. He benefitted this year from a very good defense and a full stable of pass catchers to go along with a stud running back.

If Flacco's salary dictates a couple key cap casualties, he won't be sniffing the Super Bowl next year.

Dear Baltimore ravens organization ,

Please somehow screw this up and by miracle joe Flacco hits the open market. Tampa bay needs a qb.

Thank you.

I would be surprised if Flacco takes a discount. Bear in mind the Ravens basically said last year "we'll wait and see what you can do this year before either extending you or franchising you". I also don't think too many pro athletes think like that. Flacco should try to get as much money as he can, plus the Ravens have quite a few aging stars so they may have to build pretty extensively in the next few years, particularly on defense. And building right usually saves cap space rather than resigning aging vets.

On offense, Rice is locked up, Yanda is locked up, Flacco is going to get his and the only other must sign at this point is Torrey Smith. Guys like Oher, Pitta etc will likely get extended but not big money by any means.

I wouldn't call the defense very good. I would call them average. 17th in yards, 12th in scoring, 14th in takeaways. Just average across the board.

No one would beat Cleveland in bidding for him. They have 18m more cap space than the Bucs and they need him about 10x more than you do.

Hm, go to Cleveland with no weapons, or go to Tampa with Jackson/Williams and Dougie "Muscle Hamster" Martin with 3 pro bowlers on the oline protecting.

Of course this is all hypothetical and wishful thinking, but no way he'd pick Cleveland (that dump) over what Tampa has in place right now.

Cleveland has one of the top O lines (including what is possibly the best tackle tandem in the league), Trent Richardson, Josh Gordon, Ben Watson, and Greg Little.

Their OL was ranked 5th. Yours was 12th. They were 3rd in pass blocking.

You're getting homerific here. Just because Cleveland players get less press doesn't mean they're ****. That offense is one Joe Flacco away from being damned good.

It's always easy to say someone else should take less money.

Of course Flacco needs a good team around him. What QB doesn't?

I think anyone would take V-Jax/M. Williams/Martin over whatever cleveland has to offer on offense. Clark and Watson are a, meh toss up.

Bucs were 12th in oline WITHOUT Joseph and Nicks. 2 top 5 Guards in the NFL and Martin still went for 1400 on the ground and 500 in recieving.

This is all hypothetical, so I'm not gonna argue with you. It's wishful thinking Flacco is going anywhere. I made a sarcastic joke and of course a Cleveland fan, (who has no reason to celebrate or brag about anything) takes it to the next level.

#Lebron James #oh wait, Cleveland sucks

I think Flacco is going to get a 7 year deal anywhere between 18-20 mil. Probably get slighly less than Manning and Brady. Sure he beat them and I'm not arguing the fact whether or not he's an ELITE QB, because he is. But I'm not sure he'll ever be as good as those two in their prime. I'm not sure if he's a better QB than Rodgers or Brees either. Roethlisbuerger? Ehh. I'd make the argument Flacco deserves top 5 QB money. But to be paid over 20 mil a year is something he needs to come back down to earth from.

Edit: I meant 18-20 mil a year. Not total. Before people rip me a new one.

Of course this is all hypothetical and wishful thinking, but no way he'd pick Cleveland (that dump) over what Tampa has in place right now.

Bucs were 12th in oline WITHOUT Joseph and Nicks. 2 top 5 Guards in the NFL and Martin still went for 1400 on the ground and 500 in recieving.

Seriously? If he's ever leaving Baltimore because they don't offer enough money (which won't happen), I'm pretty confident he wouldn't choose Tampa over Cleveland (or any higher bidder) "because they have a better team/have better weapons". If that was the case, he'd have stayed in Baltimore in the first place.

I'm not a Cleveland fan at all. I don't particularly care for them. I just recognize people saying stupid things and point them out. Not my fault you basically only know anything about one team (but not enough to recognize how overrated Davin Joseph is, I guess).

If Cleveland had such a great o-line, how did Richardson underperform while Martin ran behind a make shift o-line every week that featured Jeremy Zuttah/Ted Larsen/Jamon Meredith on the inside between the tackles?

I think you need some knowledge, pal.
