Maybe he would have, I don't know. The 49ers have not been in the position to need these furious comebacks with him very often the last two years. Kaepernick just seems to be a slow starter while Smith plays his best in the first half. Something for Kaepernick to work on, at least. If he can play like he did in the second half all game then the 49ers are unstoppable

So is the route running of Crabtree and Moss in the red zone. Davis should be the primary read there. Crabtree must have a 27 inch vertical because I hardly ever see him leave his feet to make a play on the ball, whenever he is targeted down there it seems like it's almost always thrown out of bounds.

Then you haven't been watching him very long.

Kaepernick's throws down there were absolutely uncatchable.

Randy Moss is the greatest red zone receiver in NFL history. To not be able to use him down there is pathetic.

Crabtree isn't a jump ball receiver. Which is why that last play call was really strange. I don't know what they were trying to do there. It was almost like a new wrinkle. At least in games, Crabtree hasn't been utilized in that facet and/or hasn't been effective as a jump ball in the endzone type of guy. Maybe if he has some space to work with, but one on one with a guy isn't going to work.

I don't know if that was the play call as much as a blitzer coming right up the middle and Kaepernick panicking.

Have they commented on whether or not it was a designed fade?
