okay guys, story time...

So most of the veteran guys here know that I was engaged for the longest time. That did not turn out well at all. I know i know, you all told me that it was a bad idea to get engaged while I was still in high school, but she turned into a huge *****, sold the ring that I bought her and then started hanging around with one of my co-workers.

We break up, go a month without talking and then try it again. Unfortunately she already had another boyfriend. I dated her for some 4 years and this is how it ended....Maybe my red hair???

So since then (it's almost been two years), I have had random flings with girls I met at bars and friends from high school but nothing ever worked out and it was pretty much meaningless flings (not that I was looking for anything special the first year after i and my ex-fiancee's break up). But I started seeing a girl about a year afterwords. Nothing really serious ever happened and I told her I wanted to take it slow and she was okay with that. Finally about 9 months into it i asked her if she wanted to be in a relationship and she said no. This was semi-crushing. I figured by this point I wanted to be in a relationship, but I knew the time wasn't right.

Fast forward 3 months...my roommate (my female roommate) asked me to go up to our former college town with her because she wanted someone to drive her back to our house after she got wasted. I had been putting off going there with her for the longest time, making excuses not to go up there.

Rewind about 2 months, Jenna, my roommate comes home from this same place and meets this girl at a party. Jenna tells me all about her and her personality, and the added bonus she likes gingers. So I go up to brookings with her and meet this girl, we hit it off and find out that we have very similar personalities and like a lot of the same things.

Something about us clicked really well. We end up kissing that night and then she came home with me.

Now I know i'm not supposed to bring up "church" on this forum (mods feel free to edit post if it is inappropriate). I play bass in my churches contemporary worship service and I play two services every other sunday. The week that this girl came home with me happened to be a week that I have to play at church. She came to both church services with me. The thing that is just awesome about this, is that the girl that I was seeing for 9 months refused to go to church with me. And I would be lying if I said it wasn't a deal breaker.

Long story short, me and this girl are still together and doing really well after only knowing/ dating for two weeks. I've only known her for two weeks, but I feel like i've known her for two years. She has her complete trust in me and I have my complete trust in her.

I feel like i'm in high school again since I haven't had a serious relationship for almost 2 years. I'm really happy and I feel like this girl is totally right for me. The relationship is moving extremely fast, only in a good way.

try to limit ginger/ christian jokes as much as possible......

I'm completely calm and level headed. I just feel good about it ya know? Wasn't really posting it to comment on the fact that i'm in a relationship again, more or less to explain how it happened and what has happened in the past to lead me to this point.

Yeah, I have no ******* clue. I mean, she said that I reminded her of her dad when she was really sick and I took care of her (simple stuff like putting blankets on her and such).

Well it was the more the fact that you're looking for some thing serious, while sexing up this girl who clearly wants something serious, but at the same time you don't want to let the opportunity go to of having sex with this girl. It's kind of impossible to get anything out of that situation and chances are if you're looking for something serious (even if it's not with her) she might get the feeling that you're looking for something but doesn't realize its not with her. It's sort of douchey.

Meh, I don't see the problem with Scotty having this hook up buddy (who he isn't seriously interested in) while he bides his time until someone worthwhile comes along. He said he established with the girl that it was purely physical, so she's kind of misleading herself is she is assuming that she is the one for the serious relationship

I mean, if you're looking for a serious relationship while still having a hook up buddy I think that's going to be an issue. You sort of have to make a choice. If you want a serious relationship you need to ditch the hook up buddy. If you don't, then stick with it.

I feel like it's impossible to want these two things at once.

I go through hook up buddies until I find the girl I try to hook up with a girl who I an interested in more than a hook up buddy :).

I mean, that's fine. You're entitled to do what you see fit. Personally, it sounds pretty difficult to find a serious relationship when you're just going through hook up buddies. It sort of defeats of the purpose. If you are looking for a serious relationship than the notion of a hook up buddy shouldn't be that appealing. Likewise, if you're just looking for hook buddies you probably won't find any serious relationships.
