melo has literally carried a top 5 team in the NBA.
I know Harden's been more efficient and without him, Houston is terribad, but Melo's the only scorer on that knicks team.

No, he hasn't. Without Tyson Chandler, that team would be an absolute mess and believing he CARRRIED THE TEAM is ridiculous.

offensively he has absolutely carried them. When your 2nd best scorer is JR Smith, that's when you know. Tyson's done an amazing job on the interior defensively and rebounding wise, but you're acting like he's some superstar. On offense, he brings absolutely nothing

That's ********. If he brought NOTHING to the table, he wouldn't be shooting almost 70 percent. You can talk about the "easiness" of his shots or whatever, but how come Kendrick Perkins doesn't put that up? Udonis Haslem? Omer Asik?

Probably because those guys aren't physical freaks. Tyson is 7ft with lanky ass arms and is surprisingly explosive. He gets so many offensive rebounds. He gets those put backs, yeah, and that's offensive talent, so fine, but you're acting like he's awesome at creating his own shot and is a go to post up player who's gonna score with his back to the basket, and we both know he's not.

I love Chandler and I somewhat agree with snowflake that he's without question our 2nd most valuable player and instrumental to our team success.
But arguing that he provides offense is ridiculous. He's not a scorer. Melo carries our offense. It's not even close.
I think Melo and Chandler benefit each other. Melo can't play the 4 without having Chandler at Center to counter his size, and Chandler doesn't get lanes to the basket without Melo constantly drawing doubles.

That would make sense if Melo was actually a good passer and got it to Chandler for those easy hoops.

So the Hawks would consider trading Josh Smith for Kris Humphries and Marshon Brooks, shoot me. Humphries is hardly an upgrade at the backup PF spot over Ivan Johnson, and Brooks is just another shoot first guard the Hawks need, if the Hawks move Josh they must get in return a starting SF or C to move Horford to the 4. I'd even trade Josh for Gortat straight up than anything Brooklyn has to offer.

He doesn't have to pass it to him to open up the lanes. Sedulously your Melo hate is pretty ridiculous.

Definitely. I mean, Houston (17-6) is better than New York (20-9) against Eastern teams. So yea, I suppose who they play should be taken into account.

Saying Ty isn't good on offense is ridiculous. He's the best pick and roll finisher in the league and collapses the **** out of defenses. He's the reason the Knicks get so many good looks from 3. All that said, Melo is definitely better and the more important player.

He can't create his own shot. 90% of his points come on put backs and ally oops. He's a good pick and roller but I wouldn't say he's the best in the league.
He's frustrating to me bc he should easily be a 20/10 guy but he doesn't work on his game at all. And at this point in his career he is what he is, he's not gonna start working on it now.
Still a great player though and a great pickup. I love Ty.

He's fantastic at what he does, but what he does is limited. You won't ever see him getting the ball in the post, back to the basket and making a post move to try and score. that just doesn't happen.

This. I think it's stupid to try and find reasons to not give it to LBJ just to be different, it would be ridiculous if he didn't win it with this type of season. I know people want Durant to win one and he will eventually, but I don't see the point in giving him MVP over LBJ if he isn't having as good of a season.

LeBron is the best player in the universe. And quite honestly, it's not much of a contest either.
The season he's having is unreal. He's MVP.
Taking nothing away from Durant, he's having a great year. But nobody can touch LeBron.
LeBron has really worked on his post game too. I'm impressed with his progress there.

One thing that annoys me about Blake Griffin is he's the worst flopper I've ever seen.
He'd flop and fall to the floor at times by himself with no one touching him. Or slightly brushing up on him. Like come on dude, youre too good of a player to be doing that.
It was embarrassing. I think he hit the floor at least 6 times yesterday. Probably more.

He doesn't, but that's fine. He is a very useful offensive player regardless, especially because of the way he collapses opposing defenses on the pick and roll. If Ty had a good post game, he'd be a top 5 player in the entire nba. My point is, Just because he doesn't have the classical offensive tool set and finesse game doesn't mean he isn't an effective prescience on offense.
There is also, by the way, something to be said for bring smart enough to play to your strengths. Ty could try to work in the post or take horrid jumpers ala josh smith, but he'd hurt the team. He knows this and plays the hell out of the role he has in the offense.

He could have been so much more though. If he just worked on a hook shot he'd be arguably the best Center in the league (with Dwight hurt).
When I see Ty, I see a great player who is very good at what he does, but I also see a guy who could have been so much better than he is if he just worked on his game in the offseason.
