We offered to Canty but I think he's waiting to see if/what the Chiefs are going to offer

I'd like to see Marks back, personally. Obviously depends on how much $$ he wants though.

Marks played the best I've seen him play last season. But he still wasn't a difference maker at DT and still made many mistakes. He's never lived up the potential or the expectations of being a 2nd round pick.

I get the feeling someone will overpay for him, if he comes back at a reasonable price, I'd like him back. But can't warrant paying him even starter money at this point

Yeah, I'd want him as a 3rd DT. I think he'll attract more money from around the league as a starter, though, so I'd say it's unlikely he's back.

Meh. I just want an in-the-box safety that can clean up properly in the run game and cover tight ends. Anything else is icing on the cake.

Thats kinda what I'm thinking. My biggest problem with him is that he'll be 32, so he's no better than a stop gap at best. Hopefully, we could grab him in FA and grab a SS to develop in the 3-4th round like Bacarri Rambo, Shawn Williams, DJ Swearinger, JJ Wilcox or 5th-6th Robert Lester, Duke Williams, Shamarko Thomas etc.

This Cyprien kid is getting alot of hype right now as a guy with the ability to play in the box and still have plenty of athleticism and movement skills to play deep. Haven't seen any games of his myself, just what he did at the Senior Bowl.

I love Elam myself, I just worry about his height and length when it comes to matching up with TE's.

Here's a list of FA's I'd love for us to take a look at, some may be franchised, resigned by their team or simply want too much money. But I'd have these players on my radar.

I haven't seen much of Cyprien either, I've watched clips, and liked what I seen. But can't get a good feel without watching the ups and downs.

I really like some guys in the 2nd. Eric Reid is intriguing, mostly because he played somewhat out of position at LSU. A move to SS could be great for him, but he may not be there in the 2nd. I'd be fine with Cyprien in the 2nd as well.

DJ Swearinger is a playmaker who I really like.

Markelle Martin has a good nose for the ball and is a gifted tackler...... Just remains to be seen if he can cover.

I'm still a big believer of Martin, but we still need a SS regardless.

The development of Markelle Martin only determines how soon we can let Michael Griffin out of that horrible contract IMO

I wish I would have payed closer attention to our S's this year, because I want to know how they are lining up. Shwartz and Fisher used to say the days of SS/FS being different were over for the most part. The S's needed to have both skillsets. I haven't paid as much attention to our new scheme or heard any talk of it.

I really liked Martin coming out too, but wonder if they can see him lining up with Griffin (assuming they still want him on the field). I know I've seen Griffin line up in the box many times over the years, and I thought he did ok, but was no Chris Hope. Hope otoh, got burned a lot in coverage. Well now that I think of it, so has Griff lol. Wish I knew more about George Wilson. He's only a guy I've heard of as a good player, but never really watched that I recall.

Bobo I didn't pay much attention either to what our S roles actually were. I just watched them get beat lol.

Laron Landry played for Jerry Gray in Washington, he was drafted while Gray was the DB coach and played his first 3 seasons with him. Of course we already know that Gregg Williams was the DC for Landry during 06 and 07.

I've got think two guys who drafted him initially would be interested in bringing him back. Plus I think Landrys hammer would be the perfect compliment to Griffins finesse

From what I've seen of Williams, he likes instintful Safeties playing the FS spot and guys who can blitz and play the box in the SS

I'm thinking maybe the Titans should draft like this:

1) OG Chance Warmack
2) OG Larry Warford
5) OL Earl Watford

Announcers would have a great time with that lol

Watford would change his name to Warford. Commence offensive line nickname "War Zone".

I missed that Landry was a FA. Although I haven't paid attention to his resent performance, I liked him a lot in the past. At least it looks like we got some legit S options. We need em lol

I liked Landry, I thought he played pretty well last year on a Jets defense where he was out of position playing FS. The Jets only signed him to a 1 year deal and very unlikely they can afford to keep him

No surprise, but Titans are expected to franchise Jared Cook

Good. Hopefully he grasps Loggains's playbook and excels.

Still need to sign Bironas back up. Not sure what's taking so long. Maybe they'll do it after they cut Amano and restructure Hass's deal.

Yeah, I expect Bironas to be back. Just waiting at this standpoint. I'm surprised we haven't cut Amano yet

It's a two way street with Cook. Yeah, I agree that we need to expand his role some in the offense, but at the same time, the dude needs to improve on some of his deficiencies as a player so that he can be highlighted more. For someone that's 6'5, long, with big hands, he sure doesn't seem to win a whole lot of contested balls or be much of a factor in the red zone. In fact, he is almost nonexistant down there. Everyone knows he's sub-par as a blocker, and while I feel like he's gotten a bit better in that regard, he's nowhere near some of the other TEs in the league. I do like Cook though, and I hope he sticks around improves his all around game.

Agree Pit, hopefully with a new OC and new position coach Cook can step it up.

Watch the Chris Johns 17yd td against the Dolphins from the very start, that sums up Cooks in line blocking ability in my opinion.

Here is my latest Titans mock offseason.

The Titans reportedly have 19.5 million in cap space for 2013. This includes free agents Bironas, Cook, Velasco, Reynaud, Marks etc. Please note all numbers are made for "easy math", salaries are estimated at being slightly frontloaded.
Running Total (Start 19.5)
Resign K Rob Bironas, 4yr/13m Spent $2.75m 16.75M
Resign C/G Fernando Velasco 1yr/2m Spent $2.0m 14.75M
Resign C/G Kevin Matthews 1yr/1m Spent $1m 13.75M
Resign RB/RS Darius Reynaud 3yr/4.5m Spent $1m 12.75M
Franchise TE Jared Cook 1yr/6m Spent $6m 6.75M
Restructure QB Matt Hasselbeck Saving $4M 10.75M
Cut C/G Eugene Amano Saving $4M 14.75M
Cut S Jordan Babineaux Saving $1.50m 16.25M
Cut WR Lavelle Hawkins Saving $2m 18.25M
All other FA's walk

FA
Sign
OG Andy Levitre 5yr 31m Cost 2.75M 15.5M
SS LaRon Landry 4yr 22m Cost 3M 12.5M
DT Glenn Dorsey 2yr 6m Cost 1.5M 11M

The rest allocated to the rookies, who are: (projected 3rd, 5th and 7th round compensatory picks)

1) DE Ezekiel Ansah 6'6" 270 BYU - After addressing the O-Line, Safety position and adding depth at DT, the Titans take a bit of a risk adding one of the more dynamic pass rushers in the draft.
2) C/G Barrett Jones 6'5" 302 Alabama - The Titans choose the versatile Jones over Warford to provide depth at both Center and Guard this season and replace either Hutch or Velasco next season if they cannot come to a reasonable contract extension with him.
3) RB Joseph Randle 6" 202 Oklahoma State - Despite larger, more durable backs being available the Titans choose the more rounded runner in Joseph Randle. He's got great hands, and great speed with decent power.
3) S Philip Thomas 6'1" 215 Fresno State - The titans grab a safety despite signing Landry, he will add depth right away and contribute on special teams
4) OT Luke Marquardt 6'9" 322 Azusa Pacific - The largest OT in the draft is also one of the more athletic. A former TE will remind many of Jared Veldheer a few years ago.
5) WR Chris Harper 6'1" 232 Kansas State - A well built-powerful WR will remind many of Anquan Boldin. Very physical and fights for the ball.
5) DE Devin Taylor 6'8" 267 South Carolina - After getting a pass rusher in the first, the Titans come back and get another to add depth. He's definitely raw and a project, but worth the selection here.
7) LB Kenny Tate 6'4" 240 Maryland - A once promising Safety prospect, he was moved to LB. He has the coverage ability and the physicality of a linebacker, a good project at this selection.
7) DT TJ Barnes 6'7" 345 GT - The Titans go size and depth on their last selection. If they can develop him great, if not it's low risk
