What's wrong with you? Shirley just might be my favorite. She's so perfect and consistently awesome.

I don't think the show has fundamentally changed other than it hasn't been anywhere near as funny, if that continues then it will be a major issue. Weeds and Californication were two shows that both stopped being funny and went too dramatic after their first couple of seasons and never got close to that same level again, hopefully Community wont go down that path.
|
Eh, I stopped following Californication, but both that and Weeds were always more dramedies than Community, which is a true comedy, and Weeds actually got good once they figured out how to do a drama with comedic elements.

I didn't keep up with what was happening with the show in the offseason so when Pierce was Fred Willard I assumed that's what they were actually doing, and I was happy about it.
I liked the latest episode.

It's hard for me because I love them all, except for Britta. Shirley, Troy, Abed, Annie, the Dean, they're all amazing. I can't really pick a favorite, but I do love Shirley.

Bottom 3 characters for me are, from worst to slightly less terrible:
Pierce
Chang
Shirley

Chang used to be awesome. He's terrible now though, and was for most of Season 3. They made him far too stupid and crazy, he was way better as the Spanish teacher.

It's been a while so I figure now is the time to tell you I love you. Chang was excellent as a mostly-sane, asshole Spanish teacher. As a completely insane and socially ridiculous loser he is painful to watch.

It has been too long <3 your Tears for Fears quote has been a staple of my sig for years! YEARS!
There are so many classic Chang moments in Season 1. He's one of the highlights. I actually don't mind him for much of Season 2 as well, because it's actually really funny when he starts using his name as a pun.
"Is there any room in this pocket for a little spare Chang?"

I still liked Chang in season 3, maybe a little towards the end of the season when he started going full psycho he was more irritating, but still funny, IMO.

I remember someone proposing to do just that, but have Abed be the only one who notices something different. It wouldn't be the worst thing in the world if done right (i.e. not overplayed).

I laughed a solid 4 or 5 times. I liked this episode more than the other episodes this season at least. I am going to hold out hope that the show just needs to find it's groove again.

Honestly I felt this was the best episode of the season but that's not saying much. I did laugh a couple of more times than normal though. Annie in Oktoberfest garb was the tits though.

I didn't really laugh at all last night. Thought it was the worst of the season so far.

Agree on all points. Not a good episode really but a few laughs, a really sexy Annie, and I also thought it was the best of the season so I am hoping this will mean the next is even better and eventually the show finds its footing.

It felt more like watching a regular episode of Community, albeit one where the jokes fell flat most of the time.

I've liked the other episodes this season but this one featured Chang and rehashed the unfunny Germans so I actually really didn't like it at all. There was also one part where they explained the joke after making it and it was very un-Harmon and un-Community. Forget what it was but it stuck out to me. Not a good episode IMO.
