You will watch Duck Dynasty one day, not knowing what you're watching, and fall in love. It is known.

Anyone seen 'A history of violence'?
I just ordered Eastern Promises off Amazon (which is one of my favorite films, go see it if you haven't) and history of violence kept popping up for a recommendation. I must of missed it but it had strong reviews and we all know Viggo Mortensen is the ******* man, just wondering if anyone saw it because I'm thinking of picking it up.

I know it's because I've got that russian blood so I always find it funny when americans make movies about how badass russian gangsters are, but I couldn't take Eastern Promises seriously, it was well made and everything, just couldn't stop laughing when I watched it.

I'm no expert on the Russian mob or their history, but I can tell you they were pretty bad ass here in NY.

I probably prefer A History of Violence between the two Cronenberg-Mortenson movies. Awesome performances and some pretty cool fight scenes, albeit featuring less Viggo dong than the one in Eastern Promises. In an age where the superhuman fighting everyman type has become a little saturated, Mortenson's character is just awesome.
I also recommend the graphic novel on which it was based, though there are some pretty big differences between the two.

Yea that's par for the course with what I've seen, I think I'm gonna go ahead and check it out. Just read Ed Harris is in it too, fan of his as well.

I am really not sure why I didn't love it. I thought it was alright but maybe my expectations were too high since I love Cronenberg and it got great reviews. One day I will watch it again.
Speaking of Cronenberg I think Naked Lunch is such a brilliant film. It rarely gets talked about though. I love it as much if not more than The Fly and Videodrome. Cronenberg put ut so many great films in the 80s.
Speaking of Canadian films, The Sweet Hereafter is one of my favorite films. It is so ******* devastating.

Oh hush. Viggo fighting with his wang freely hanging around was clearly the best scene ever.

I appreciate Cronenberg as a great technician who really creates unique pieces of art, but I really don't love a lot of his films. I just don't get into them the way I do with someone like Lynch, Aronofsky or Miike.

Oh yeah, I definitely meant Miike, his films are hit or miss, but he's got as unique a style as anyone alive now and more often than not I can still get into them. Sukiyaki Western Django is a lot of fun to.

What are some good WW2 movies that look at it from the German perspective?
I've already seen Das Boot, Downfall, Valkryie, Cross of Iron, and Stalingrad.

Christian Bale is in talks to reprise his role as Batman in DC's upcoming Justice League movie, Christopher Nolan will oversee the project, and Man of Steel-helmer Zack Snyder will produce - and possibly direct - if a new report from Latino Review is to be believed.
The website claims that Nolan is now in charge of the entire DCU at Warner Bros., and is in discussions to act as a sort of Godfather to the project, as well as produce alongside Zack Snyder. The studio allegedly wants the film to be set in the same universe as Nolan's Dark Knight trilogy, which naturally means a return of Bale's Batman. Not only that, but Justice League would also tie in with Snyder's gritty Man of Steel, which means - you guessed it - Bale's Batman and Henry Cavill's Superman would appear in the same universe, in the same movie, at the same time.
As the website correctly notes, Bale wouldn't be against reprising the role, as long as the story was right. "I would love the challenge of making a fourth one work," he told Empire Magazine last summer.
Considering Marvel hit the billion-dollar jackpot with the culmination of its Phase One shared universe model, The Avengers, imagine what Warner Bros. could spin by crossing over their top-tier DC properties? And if Justice League releases in 2015 as planned, it will go up against The Avengers 2 the same year, which is certainly an unprecedented clash of the comic book movie titans.
While the information is definitely still camped out in rumorville, the folks at Latino Review have traditionally proven themselves to be a reliable source for scoops, and this could certainly be one of their biggest.
We'll update with any new information as we get it.

Just going to post this. That is a move I can get behind, so long as Bale returning means that his existence in the JLA movie is prior to the events of the DKR movie. I would be very open to this move, although I really am unsure how some of the other characters movies would be able to be adapted as seriously as the dark knight trilogy and the new Superman movie.

Or I could also be open to the JLA movie taking place after the events of TDKR if they asked him to join the team in his retirement as hes training Jgl as Robin, and both of them join up. That would be acceptable to me as well, although the way Nolan ended the trilogy really was perfect.
