Didn't you hear? He isn't one of the top ten QBs in this draft.

Wut? Yeah, his stat sheet is decent and his combine numbers look good. He looks not good when you actually watch him.

I seriously doubt you have seen him play more than I have seen him play being that I have seen him play in both college and high school, something else I covered in the thread you apparently haven't read.
|
You're clearly over-attached to this one.

I don't even hate E.J. Manuel as a prospect. It would even be interesting to compare him to Christian Ponder, who also had a 2nd round grade and suddenly went in the 1st. I'm just skeptical about Mayock's QB rankings.

I don't hate him either. Probably looks like I do because of how infatuated 3 people are over him.

Black Bolt clearly has his bias...it would be best to ignore him

LOL, so if a very few rate him higher than the majority, that is evidence of "infatuation." Thanks for the tip.

Naw, Black Bolt clearly has more information than you do. Mayock adjusted his ranking after he go more information, so is he biased as well? Just so you know, you are coming off as a hater.

Manuel has all of the physical tools but when you watch him during games he is just too inconsistent. Too many overthrows of receivers and despite having a cannon arm, he tends to float the ball too much when he doesn't really have to. He is a better prospect than Ponder but I wasn't high on Ponder either coming out of college. I can see through my garnet and gold glasses. He and the offensive line were the reasons why the Seminoles lost two games this year. He does have more potential than anyone in this draft though. If he can be molded and get his deficiencies under control he would easily be the best QB in this draft.

He is that first round talent that will probably benefit from sitting. Carson Palmer was the #1 pick in the draft and sat for a year.

He'd be late round to undraftable if he played against SEC defenses weekly. Florida be tearing his ass up.

Mayock is looking at supply and demand of Read option guys in this draft... Manual has a lot of potential.. I think his passing ability is questionable.. Is he is as good a passer as his 68% indicates.. Manuel only threw it 700 times in his two years as starter.. 26 times a games The other big Question I have about Manuel is how do you get sacked 30 times a year with only 350 passes if he is supposed to be so mobile you would think he would do better at getting rid of the ball.

Mobile QBs seem to take crap tons of sacks, probably because they think they can get away.

More talented than Ponder who went 12th in 2011 & Locker who went 8th. Some of you still have to come to grips with how QB's are valued post new CBA.
Don't be surprised if he goes #8 to the Bills. The kid has a lot to like. Great size, plus athletic ability for his position, big arm, experience in a Pro System, 5-0 in Bowl games(including a few MVP's). Played with a broken fibula v ND and all he did was put together a comeback and completed some 'wow' passes in the 2nd half.
Where he lands will have a lot to do with how he develops but he's a definite 1st Round pick.

Kind of funny how Kap all of a sudden had elite skills coming out of Nevada.
