Good deal for each side. Both of our safeties are pro bowlers and they are locked in for at least 4 more years.

I can't remember the Falcons ever being so solid at safety.

I'm a little skeptical about the no training camp part. If they pay him $7mill he should be willing to at least be there for part of camp. It just doesn't seem like him to want special treatment.

A lot of veterans miss training camp. It's not a big deal. Tony can't gain much from TC anyway.

I'm hoping the Falcons sign Sam Baker, Jake Long, Wes Welker and Tony Gonzalez to unrealistically cap friendly deals and then draft defenders and a RB.

In all seriousness, I hope we go after Steven Jackson in FA and draft Lattimore in the 3rd/4th. Only other FA's I like are Dumervil and Kruger.

So it's official. Good, that makes TE less of a need for now.

If a SB is the goal, TG should be reasonable with his contract. He'll. Make a lots of money in broadcasting after his career is over

Gonzo is smart enough to make a whole lot more money after his career is over. He is well liked and respected by everyone, he can do so much. Winning a Superbowl will boost is post-football life. He should look at it long term.

Have Jake Long, Wes Welker, Sam Baker, and Steven Jackson agreed to contracts with the Falcons yet?

When you have a team of Blank, TD, and Mike Smith, free agency is a breeze compared to most teams.

We still need to sign Grimes, he is priority #1. Aside from that I'd like to have one more signing (Dumervil or Jackson)

Baker picked a good season to have a career year. If his rookie contract would have expired last year, no way would he be back with the team.

No one has mentioned this but Todd McClure is retiring. That probably means Konz is moving to center and once again we will have a battle at RG. Or for option two, we keep Konz at RG and have Hawley at center.

I still didn't want Baker back, and that doesn't speak well for Lamar Holmes unless either he or Baker can move to guard. I like Willie Colon, he can run block and has size, who was just released by the Steelers.
As for Grimes, I wouldn't make him priority number one. The market is flooded with cornerbacks and he is coming off of an injury. If we are going to sign him, it needs to be reasonable.
