Backup to Andrew Luck is even better. Barring injury there is zero chance of playing. I don't know who the QB coach is there, or if they even have one, but Matt could serve both roles.

Please don't tell me Safford is really this much of a whiny jerk.
Just play RT, be dominant, help Sam Bradford have a career year and win 10 games and Safford's value with be through the roof.
Trading good young players under contract without attempting to resign them, then drafting their replacements, if you get lucky, is bad team management.
|
Not sure i'd say Saffold is a whiny jerk, it's more like your usual agent speak to me. Saffold isn't that good that he or his agent is going to dictate to anyone.

Saffold is very good on the left side. His agent is the One that is opening his mouth.

Mark Brunell prolonged his dead career for an extra 3 years by backing up a shitbox like Sanchez.

So i guess you and njx are approacing it from a schedule issue, which i can see. I dont think the Houstons of the world with Matt Shaub or the Seattles of the world with Matt Hasselbeck ever talked like they had one chance at respectability then they were headed for the toilet.
Not to hijack this topic into another Alex Smith discussion but i think he is a little better equiped for the foreseeable future than say a Tim Tebow would have been in Denver.

Speaking of backups, Giants re-signed David Carr to a 1 year deal to back up Eli for the 5th season in the past 6 years.

Must have been something in the water there at the UW because his running mate Billy Joe Hobert pissed a bunch of money away himself.

Well, he's also 43. Not sure who would give him a starting job.

He's saying Favre could still be a backup, but his ego is too big for that.

Brunell had serious financial problems. If it weren't for that, he wouldn't have played nearly as long.

I don't know how Brunell went broke. He has a ton of Whatabugers in Jacksonville. I'm pretty sure my friends and I ate there enough to put his kids through college.

If you can afford the initial costs of franchise fees for places like that, they pretty much print money after that if you choose a decent location and have somebody competent to run it.
